Job description

Product Compliance Engineer – Product Safety & Cybersecurity

The Product Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring Qualitrol's Service platform and associated products meet global regulatory, safety and cybersecurity requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

This role combines product safety engineering, cybersecurity compliance and regulatory leadership to ensure products are designed, developed and released with compliance built into the development process rather than added at the end. The engineer partners closely with Product Engineering, DevOps, Product Management and external certification agencies to accelerate commercialization while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security and regulatory compliance.

Support product certification and regulatory approvals.

Cybersecurity
  • Secure Development Lifecycle
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Partner with Product Engineers and DevOps to embed compliance requirements throughout development.
Regulatory Strategy
  • Develop compliance roadmaps for new products and analytics services.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging regulations affecting industrial platforms and connected devices.
Product Development Support
  • Participate throughout product development by:
    • Reviewing product requirements
    • Performing design reviews
    • Conducting risk assessments
    • Supporting verification activities
    • Coordinating certification testing
    • Ensure compliance activities do not become launch bottlenecks.
Continuous Improvement
  • Develop repeatable compliance processes supporting rapid product releases while maintaining regulatory confidence.
  • Introduce AI-assisted compliance workflows where appropriate to improve efficiency and documentation quality.
Required Experience
  • 8+ years of product compliance engineering
  • Strong understanding of IEC/EN 61000 EMC and IEC/UL 61010 safety standards
  • Experience with industrial electronics
  • Experience working directly with UL, TĂśV, Intertek or equivalent certification agencies
  • Strong understanding of functional safety and product cybersecurity
  • Experience supporting global product launches
