  • Support SHH teams and committees including the Safety Committee, Emergency Response Team (EmRT), and others focused on life safety.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to established safety standards; assist in updating standards as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver training, presentations, and toolbox talks across a wide variety of safety topics.
  • Monitor compliance with policies and regulations by reviewing employee activities and overall operations.
  • Assist with equipment and machinery inspections to identify, document, report, and follow up on potential unsafe conditions and corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root cause and partner with HR to handle worker's compensation claims.
  • Act as the primary administrator for all safety management and training software, taking full ownership of accurate data entry, user management, system optimization, and troubleshooting to eliminate historical administrative bottlenecks.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
  • Report on safety issues and statistics.
  • Maintain comprehensive safety documentation and record-keeping.
  • Provide high-level safety advice and mentoring to staff, management, and contractors while promoting general safety awareness.
