Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Day shift Registered Nurse for our Short Stay/ Surgical Observation Unit!
Sign On bonus up to $15,000 for qualified candidates!
Wendell 2 is an award-winning Surgical Short Stay unit with 24 beds, specializing in women's health, ortho/spine, general surgery, and bariatrics, with a ratio of 1:5 or 1:6. These are all short stay populations with heavy discharge turnover. If you enjoy a quick pace- Wendell 2 is the place for you! Operating primarily on 12-hour shifts with weekend rotations, the team includes Patient Care Technicians covering 8-12 patients, Unit Coordinators, Resource Nurses, and an outstanding Educator with over 20 years of experience. The unit emphasizes comprehensive staff development through a robust orientation program where managers and educators meet biweekly to optimize learning, making it an ideal environment for both experienced nurses and new graduates seeking skill development. Wendell 2 fosters a collaborative atmosphere with a multidisciplinary team, blending the resources of a major medical center with community hospital warmth, all while maintaining a focus on patient safety and quality care.
