WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Our retail channels — grocery chains, club stores, convenience stores, and commissaries — are critical to Meadow Gold's success. This role focuses on strengthening customer relationships, driving profitable sales growth, and protecting margin by reducing shrink (out-of-code product) at store level.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Key Account Manager (KAM) for retail supports major customers such as Foodland, Times, Safeway, Don Quijote, KTA, Target, Walmart, Costco, 7-Eleven, Longs, commissaries, and others. The retail KAM is responsible for growing sales, improving product mix, optimizing store execution, and ensuring Meadow Gold remains a preferred vendor across Hawaii's retail landscape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and grow assigned retail accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with store personnel and buyers.
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure effective product mix, proper rotation, and reduced shrink.
  • Identify sales opportunities: new items, expanded facings, seasonal programs, and targeted promotions.
  • Execute retail campaigns, demo programs, and in-store initiatives.
  • Monitor out-of-stocks, credits, and quality issues; coordinate internally to resolve efficiently.
  • Track sales performance, competitive activity, and market trends.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly updates for Sales & Marketing leadership.
  • Navigate and manage customer portals for order entry, promotional planning, and account documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years experience in sales, retail, or food/beverage roles.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and basic reporting tools.
  • Valid Hawaii driver's license and reliable transportation.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Existing relationships within the industry and strong understanding of Hawaii's market.
  • Experience working with perishable products.
  • Familiarity with pricing, promotions, and margin management.
  • Ability to interpret sales data and convert insights into action.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30lbs.
  • Required to stand for extended periods of time and walk throughout the workday.

Salary Range: 75,000 - 85,000
