Job description

DESCRIPTION: 

The Nassau BOCES Department of District and Technology Services is seeking a Program Specialist II to support Data and Management Services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing in-district and/or virtual support for Nassau BOCES and Nassau County school districts
  • Providing on-site training and ongoing technical support to district and building employees including administrators, teachers, and clerical staff on the use of various software systems. These systems include the Frontline suite of platforms (Frontline IEP, Medicaid, Response to Intervention (RTI), and Frontline WebReg) and the Renaissance suite of educational software (Star 360, Freckle, and myON)
  • Understanding Medicaid Reimbursement and reporting
  • Moderating listservs for Medicaid in Education and Renaissance
  • Creating, modifying, and delivering virtual or in-person professional development and presentations to districts 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • New York State Education Department (NYSED) Professional Teaching Certification (with School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) Certification is preferred) or School Counseling Professional Certification (with SDL or SDA certification is required)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Extensive experience with virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom 
  • Knowledge of Renaissance, Frontline, BoardDocs, and Community Knowledge of the Medicaid reimbursement process is preferred

  • Ability to travel within Nassau County 

SALARY:  As per labor contract.
