Job description

We are seeking a Calypso Engineer to support the development, enhancement, and modernization of an enterprise FX trading platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Calypso, Java development, and capital markets technology, with strong experience across FX products, trade lifecycle management, and enterprise integrations. This role will contribute to platform expansion, application modernization, and migration initiatives while working closely with business, operations, and technology teams.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and customize Calypso solutions across multiple FX trading products.
  • Enhance platform capabilities by onboarding new products, trade types, and business workflows.
  • Develop scalable Java-based applications and services using Calypso APIs and REST APIs.
  • Build and maintain integrations between Calypso and internal/external financial systems.
  • Enhance accounting, settlement, operational, and risk reporting capabilities.
  • Support end-to-end FX trade lifecycle processing and post-trade workflows.
  • Participate in platform modernization and migration initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver new trading functionality and project milestones.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide ongoing application support.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous platform improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on Calypso development experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Calypso architecture, engines, customization, and APIs.
  • Strong Java development experience.
  • Experience developing REST APIs and enterprise application integrations.
  • Advanced SQL skills with strong knowledge of relational databases.
  • Deep understanding of FX trading and trade lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting:
    • Spot FX
    • FX Swaps
    • Cross-Currency Swaps
    • FX Options
  • Experience implementing new products, workflows, and functionality within Calypso.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets technology and front-to-back trade processing.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Spectrum-to-Calypso migration projects.
  • Experience with Spectrum or Wallstreet Systems (WSS).
  • Experience integrating Calypso with financial market utilities, including:
    • Bloomberg
    • DTCC
    • MarkitWire
    • AcadiaSoft
    • TriResolve
  • AWS cloud experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Terraform, and Nexus.
  • Experience supporting treasury, foreign exchange, or capital markets technology platforms.
