About this Job Section 23 - Real Estate 23/50395227/ROWS/8.20.26-SC About this Position: This position involves highly responsible work under the broad supervision of a Right of Way Manager and is responsible for LaDOTD right of way projects managed and worked by right of way consultants and Right of Way Section employees. Directs and manages one of five (5) Right of Way Regional Offices involving Right of Way Acquisition, Relocation Assistance and Property Management programs and activities; in furtherance of the Department Statewide project development and contract letting goals. This position will be filled as a promotion (only open to DOTD permanent status employees)

This position manages both Kenner and Hammond Right of Way offices. AN IDEAL CANIDATE SHOULD POSESS THE FOLLLOWING COMPETENCIES: Building and Supporting Teams: The ability to combine one's actions and efforts with others to work toward achieving a common goal. Displaying Expertise: The ability to demonstrate specialized knowledge, skills, and experience to apply subject-matter expertise in diverse and evolving contexts.

AGENT OPTION: Seven years of experience in property rights acquisition, real estate acquisition, real estate property management, relocation assistance, or real estate appraisal; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of experience in property rights acquisition, real estate acquisition, real estate property management, relocation assistance, or real estate appraisal; OR A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in property rights acquisition, real estate acquisition, real estate property management, relocation assistance, or real estate appraisal

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION (AGENT OPTION ONLY): Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Directs and manages the Region 5 Right of Way offices located in Kenner and Hammond. Participates in the development of acquisition, relocation, and property management policies. Manages and supervises all activities of a staff of right of way agents.

Requires regular contact with the public property owners and consultants. Responsible for the everyday operation of a Regional Right of Way office, including making sure the facility is kept up and maintained, that the office equipment is always maintained and operating properly, and that the office is always supplied with the necessities for proper operation. Some travel is required.
