Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer (GCP) based in Netherlands.

In this role, you will be responsible for building, automating, and securing a modern cloud infrastructure centered on Google Cloud Platform. You will design and maintain scalable DevOps pipelines and cloud-native environments that support high-performance applications and data workflows. Working in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, you will collaborate closely with development, security, and data teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. You will take ownership of infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD automation, and Kubernetes-based deployments while continuously improving system resilience and deployment efficiency. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on infrastructure work, automation at scale, and solving complex cloud engineering challenges. Your contributions will directly impact the stability and performance of mission-critical cloud systems.

Accountabilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes environments using GKE for production workloads.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to enable consistent and automated provisioning.
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to support fast and reliable software delivery.
  • Implement and manage Apache Airflow workflows, including DAG development and orchestration of data pipelines.
  • Ensure strong security practices including secrets management, RBAC, and audit logging across cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data, and security teams to support application deployment and operational needs.
  • Develop automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline infrastructure and operational tasks.
  • Monitor system performance and contribute to incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in production environments.
  • Proven experience working with Kubernetes and GKE in production-scale systems.
  • Solid experience with Apache Airflow, including DAG development and workflow orchestration.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience implementing cloud security best practices such as IAM, RBAC, secrets management, and audit logging.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
  • Good command of English for collaboration in international teams.
  • Experience with Azure and/or AWS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CloudFormation or Bicep is considered an advantage.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Opportunity to work on a modern, GCP-centric cloud infrastructure at scale.
  • Fast-paced startup environment with high technical ownership.
  • Fully collaborative work culture involving engineering, security, and data teams.
  • Exposure to advanced cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Professional growth opportunities in cloud architecture, DevOps, and platform engineering.
  • Flexible working environment with autonomy and responsibility.
  • Chance to contribute to highly secure and mission-critical cloud systems.
