Warehouse Material Handler

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials and shipments 
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently 
  • Match purchase orders, sales orders, and delivery documents 
  • Pull, stage, and prepare materials for jobsite delivery 
  • Organize and stock materials in designated warehouse locations 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using computer systems or scanning tools 
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control procedures 
  • Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and storage of materials 
  • Prepare and assemble job orders for shipment or delivery 
  • Deliver and pick up materials from job sites and supply houses as needed 
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (as trained/certified) 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment 
  • Follow all safety policies and company procedures 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities 
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation 
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude 
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed 
  • Willingness to learn warehouse systems, processes, and procedures 
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required throughout the day 
  • Basic understanding of construction materials or warehouse operations (preferred) 
  • Forklift experience or willingness to become certified (preferred) 
  • Valid commercial driver’s license for material deliveries and pickups 

 

Physical and Environmental Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly 
  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday 
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment 
  • Comfortable working in indoor warehouse and occasional outdoor environments 
  • Preferably two years’ warehouse experience (plus if in the electrical industry)
