Job description

Elliot Industries Inc (a MacLean Power Systems Company) is seeking a talented Quality Manager. The Quality Manager (QM) serves as a key member of the plant leadership team, guiding the Quality Department and championing a culture of excellence. This role is responsible for developing and executing a site-specific quality strategy that aligns with the broader corporate objectives. The QM oversees all aspects of the quality function, including the integrated management system, supplier quality and incoming inspection, quality control and assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Through effective leadership and collaboration, QM ensures that quality standards are met or exceeded across all operations, driving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

This role is based in our Bossier City, LA Plant.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Quality Strategy by identifying critical roles and assembling the right talent. Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Quality Team through clearly defined job-specific requirements, tailored training initiatives, and continuous professional development aligned with strategic performance goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and sustain a resilient Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001 standards, including anticipated amendments—while ensuring full compliance with customer requirements, regulatory obligations, and industry benchmarks.
  • Develop and implement a site-specific quality strategy aligned with corporate objectives, leading quality-focused initiatives and ensuring project timelines and deliverables are achieved. Actively contributes to cross-functional projects to ensure quality standards and requirements are fully integrated and met throughout execution.
  • Establish and refine internal quality control mechanisms by designing comprehensive measurement and monitoring systems. This includes implementing a robust metrology framework, structured incoming inspection protocols, and effective plant floor control and inspection processes tailored to operational requirements.
  • Serve as a core member of the plant leadership team, representing the quality function in strategic planning, operational reviews, and decision-making forums.
  • Oversee the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process specific to Customer Complaints, utilizing quality data and trend analysis to identify root causes and drive effective resolution in coordination with engineering.
  • Define and monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs), support other departments in developing relevant metrics, and map process inputs, outputs, and interdependencies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to address quality concerns, strengthen supplier performance, and improve overall supply chain reliability.
  • Coordinate and lead internal, external, and customer audits, ensuring facility-wide readiness and alignment across departments. Quality Manager
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic guidance to leadership and operational teams, integrating priorities and actions into the broader business strategy through tools such as FMEAs and control plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement comprehensive documentation such as inspection and testing procedures, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process flow diagrams while ensuring consistent training, understanding, and compliance across all operational areas

What You’ll Need to Excel in This Role

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a science discipline with preference to Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline.

Experience:

  • 5+ years related manufacturing experience with 2+ years leading Quality in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience as a manufacturing or process engineer is preferred.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Expertise in Quality Standards: Deep understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, with practical experience in implementing and managing integrated management systems.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Ability: Proven strength in root cause analysis, corrective action development, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Technical Writing Proficiency: Skilled in drafting clear, concise, and accurate documentation including procedures, reports, and quality-related communications.
  • Customer Complaint & Failure Analysis: Experienced investigating customer complaints, conducting failure analyses, and preparing detailed technical reports.
  • Regulatory & Customer Requirements: Strong research capabilities and the ability to make informed decisions quickly while ensuring compliance with customer-specific and regulatory standards.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Testing Standards Knowledge: Familiar with ASTM test methods and their application in quality assurance processes.
  • Statistical Tools & Concepts: Solid foundation in statistical analysis, including control charts, capability studies, and data interpretation.
  • AIAG Core Tools Expertise: Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, SPC, and MSA.
