Job description

Title: Project Manager (PMP)
Location: Washington, DC or Overland Park, Kansas

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of a significant framework migration project. This includes transitioning from ASP.NET to a LAMP stack, overseeing complete code redevelopment, managing extensive data migration, and integrating new mobile and multimedia functionalities. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a meticulous approach to project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, and delivery for the migration of an existing ASP.NET framework to a modern LAMP framework (PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML, jQuery).
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Oversee comprehensive code redevelopment, ensuring all new code adheres to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 compliance standards.
  • Manage the complete data migration strategy and execution from MS SQL Server to MySQL for the entire site.
  • Direct the migration of four critical databases: manufacturer/MIC, recalls, document library, and image library.
  • Facilitate the implementation of new web technologies, including embedded video capabilities and enhanced mobile responsiveness across the platform.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication to stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and foster strong communication across development teams, business units, and external vendors.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, budget, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.
  • Proven senior-level experience managing complex IT migration projects, specifically involving comprehensive framework transitions and data migrations.
  • Demonstrable understanding of both Microsoft (ASP.NET, MS SQL Server) and open-source (LAMP stack: PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML, jQuery) technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience ensuring Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 compliance.
  • Experience with managing projects involving embedded video and mobile capability implementation.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing projects in a government or highly regulated environment.
