Job Summary

The Director, Project Management provides strategic leadership for the organization's project management function, overseeing a portfolio of technology initiatives with a strong focus on AI-enabled solutions and healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) innovations. This role establishes and drives enterprise project management methodologies, governance, tools, and best practices to ensure successful project execution and measurable business outcomes.

Working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional partners, this role aligns project priorities with organizational strategy, strengthens collaboration between product and project management teams, and ensures effective management of project scope, resources, budgets, risks, and quality. The Director, Project Management also drives ROI planning and performance measurement to maximize the value of strategic initiatives.


Major Responsibilities/Activities


Governance & Tools

  • Methodology: Maintain and enhance project management processes and methodology at the enterprise level, in alignment with Project Management Institute (PMI) and Agile guidelines, optimizing processes for a fast-paced technology operations environment.
  • Microsoft Ecosystem Architecture: Lead the ongoing migration, build-out, and optimization of the project management resource suite utilizing Microsoft Planner and adjacent MS tools to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Metrics & Dashboards: Develop, implement, and govern project management processes, KPIs, visual dashboards, templates, and policies. Monitor compliance with these standards.
  • Executive Reporting: Coordinate communication activities and maintain dashboards that publicize project plans, goals, risks, and results to Executive Management.
  • Cross-Functional Advocacy: Partner with leaders across other business units to publicize PMO initiatives, share program milestones, and broadly communicate team accomplishments, actively promoting the PMO's value proposition and strategic impact across the organization.
  • Executive Presence: Prepare and deliver Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to Senior Leadership, driving meaningful action by translating portfolio KPIs into clear, actionable business insights.

Financial Accountability & ROI Tracking

  • ROI Projections: Partner with stakeholders during the proof of concept (POC), initiation, and planning stages to drive ROI projections.
  • Outcome Realization: Create, implement, and manage tracking mechanisms to monitor post-launch project performance and guarantee that intended ROI outcomes are achieved.
  • Budgetary Control: Oversee project managers in developing and maintaining project plan documents, schedules, and budgets, ensuring cost controls are strictly measured.

Team Leadership & Product Collaboration

  • Product Team Alignment: Partner closely with the Director, Product Management to harmonize the product roadmap with project execution, strengthening day-to-day working relationships between product managers and project managers.
  • Talent Development: Coach, mentor, and set annual performance targets for project management practitioners, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Resource Management: Refine the PMO structure to properly manage staffing requirements and scale the PMO to support the company’s continued growth.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Coordinate deliverables across a diverse group of project managers, developers, analysts, and vendors in both direct and indirect reporting structures.

Strategy & Prioritization

  • Strategic Advisory: Provide executive leaders with data-driven insights to assess, prioritize, and decide which proposals possess the highest potential value, financial impact, and strategic alignment with the company’s Standard Operating Objectives.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Interface with executives to communicate project priorities, implementation hurdles, technical challenges, and strategic opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements:

Required Education, Skills, & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Operations, Computer Science, or related field; or comparable education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of related project management leadership experience in Tech-Ops, RCM operations, or software development environments.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparative Agile project management certification(s) or planning to obtain in the next 12 months.
  • Direct, hands-on experience building out workflows, templates, or managing portfolios within Microsoft Planner and the broader Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Proven ability to present complex, technical, financial, or controversial topics clearly to an executive leadership team.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and unify product management and project management teams cross-functionally.
  • Proven experience managing third-party software vendors and external contractors, including a track record of monitoring service level agreements (SLAs) and ensuring partner deliverables align with technical project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Proficiency in English is necessary for job-related communication, including understanding policies, writing correspondence, and engaging with colleagues or clients.

Preferred Education, Skills, & Experience

  • Experience working in Healthcare Technology, HealthTech, or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).
  • Strong background in corporate financial measurements, capital budgeting, upfront ROI forecasting, and post-project realization tracking.
  • Familiarity with the lifecycle of developing and deploying AI-enabled or automated technology solutions.

Working Environment

  • The office environment is a controlled indoor setting with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
  • Noise levels in the office are typically moderate and consistent with a standard office setting.
  • For employees approved to work in a hybrid or remote setting, a quiet, private workspace free from significant distractions is required to ensure productivity during work hours.
  • A reliable internet connection is required for hybrid/remote work. EMS|MC will provide necessary equipment, including a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting: frequent and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.

  • Movement: occasional walking and climbing of stairs; limited bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying of office-related items.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 20% travel required to support enterprise initiatives (including M&A activity), plus attendance at quarterly company meetings.

Pay range: $125,000 - $140,000 annually, with final compensation based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and business needs.
