AVANTech, LLC solves some of the most challenging problems in the water industry - from being first responders to the Fukushima Nuclear Plant meltdown to implementing patented first-of-its-kind technology. AVANTech's goal is to improve the environment around us and support our clients with innovative sustainable water treatment solutions.
AVANTech, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Controls Specialist to support our project management team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial tracking, schedule alignment, and procurement coordination across projects. The ideal candidate will help drive visibility into project performance. Additionally, the role will provide estimating support in the form of quoting, building cost estimates and formulating price models. The goal being to provide end to end project cost performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Project Manager to track, reconcile, and forecast project financial performance
  • Monitor project budgets, actual costs, and variances; provide actionable insights
  • Review project schedules, ensuring alignment with financial plans
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to track purchasing activities, commitments, and expenditures
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and pricing models for proposals
  • Develop and maintain project controls tools, reports, and dashboards
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial, scheduling, and procurement systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls processes and reporting

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field (experience in lieu of degree)
  • 3+ years of experience in project controls, project finance or related role
  • Strong understanding of cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Familiarity with reviewing project schedules (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Experience supporting proposal pricing or cost estimating
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of project accounting principles
  • Familiarity with ERP or financial systems and procurement processes
