Job description

Role and Scope of Position:
As the Associate Planner & Scheduler I, Project Controls, you will plan, schedule, manage and report on the Transmission Organization: Capital Projects, Maintenance Projects, and Distribution Projects managed by Transmission across the Eversource projects portfolio. You will complete tasks associated with establishing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting of costs and schedules associated to project activities contained in the overall project schedules. In addition, you will assist other Transmission & Engineering Planner & Schedulers in determining schedule conflicts and resource solutions for meeting project costs and schedule objectives that positively influence project direction.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, analyzing, and managing project activities and resources to the level necessary to support project and department requirements and needs.
  • Monitor and report on baselines for cost and schedule.
  • Assist in determining internal and external engineering and construction resource solutions for meeting project objectives.
  • Identify internal and external engineering and construction resources in the schedule and any constraints on current projects and future demands.
  • Communicate project status and resource loading with team members and Lead Transmission & Engineering Planner & Scheduler.
  • Communicate project plan changes and advise team members and Lead Transmission & Engineering Planner & Scheduler of potential conflicts and solutions.
  • Assist in expediting project plan changes and communicating internal and external reallocation of engineering and construction resources to accommodate changes and conflicts.
  • Evaluate project forecasts to assure desired results are achieved.
  • Assist in developing alternative solutions for resolving potential project resource constraints, schedule conflicts and cost overruns.
  • Participate in intra and inter departmental activities to assure adherence to schedule and established guidelines.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
  • Incumbent to demonstrate the ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, meet expectations of department objectives, and possess the ability to understand goal-driven deliverables.
  • Incumbent to demonstrate the ability to coordinate and implement the necessary actions to ensure that goals and targets are achieved.
  • Use appropriate interpersonal styles to communicate and collaborate with peers and management toward goal achievement.
  • Project scheduling experience and knowledge of Primavera (5 or better) preferred.
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel).

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:
  • Zero (0)- two (2) years of project controls, planning and scheduling work experience using Primavera P6 preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:
  • None

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires sitting, standing, and general movement throughout the office area.
  • Repetitive movement of hands and fingers through typing and writing. Reaching with hands and arms. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, or bending.
  • Travel will be required to Eversource office locations, project sites and contractor locations.
  • Must be able to work emergency storm assignments as required.
