Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Controls Data Analyst III to support project controls through advanced data analytics, business intelligence, and performance reporting. This role develops dashboards, analyzes cost and schedule performance, supports risk and change management reporting, and delivers actionable insights for large-scale EPC projects.

Working closely with project managers, finance, and project controls teams, the Data Analyst III ensures data integrity, improves reporting processes, and helps drive informed business decisions across the project lifecycle while providing technical guidance to junior analysts. 

 

  • Independently produce complex analytics and reporting across dashboards/BI, progress & performance, risk, and change management
  • Build enterprise-grade Power BI reports and robust DAX/Power Query models; validate row-level security and refresh reliability
  • Own the monthly earned-value calculation and variance analysis for assigned projects; prepare root-cause and corrective-action narrative
  • Lead risk-register maintenance and support quantitative (Monte Carlo) risk inputs; monitor contingency drawdown and flag acceleration
  • Administer the PCO/PDN log and change reporting for assigned projects; classify changes and produce the change order report
  • Own delivery of assigned sections of the monthly project controls package end to end, including quality assurance before publication
  • Reconcile published outputs to JDE within tolerance; investigate and resolve non-routine discrepancies
  • Translate stakeholder requirements (PM, Finance, Controls leadership) into governed dashboard and report specifications
  • Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to DA 1 and DA 2 staff; review their work for accuracy
  • Contribute to KPI Dictionary maintenance by proposing and documenting metric definitions and thresholds

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field 
  • Microsoft PL-300 certification preferred; AACE (CCP/CEP) or PMI (PMI-SP/PMP) certification a plus 

Experience 

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in BI/data analytics or project controls on capital projects 
  • Demonstrated independent ownership of production reporting or EVM on EPC/construction projects 
  • Experience across multiple project controls domains (BI, EVM, risk, or change) preferred 
  • Experience on power generation, oil & gas, or heavy industrial EPC projects preferred 

Technical Skills 

  • Microsoft Power BI - advanced: composite models, incremental refresh, deployment basics, performance tuning 
  • DAX - advanced: iterator functions, context transition, time intelligence 
  • Power Query / M - advanced: parameterized queries and transformation pipelines 
  • SQL - intermediate to advanced: views, query optimization for validation 
  • EcoSys - advanced: EVM metric calculation, EAC/ETC methodology 
  • Oracle Primavera P6 - advanced: progress, resource, and baseline data integration 
  • JD Edwards (JDE) - strong understanding of cost, WBS, commitments, and actuals 
  • Microsoft Excel - expert: EVM models, variance and sensitivity analysis 
  • Working knowledge of AACE EVM standards and QPSG KPI governance 
  • Power Query, Python, and Databricks - experience with: applies for data transformation, analysis, and reporting 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • AACE (CCP, CEP, CCEP) or PMI (PMI-SP, PMP) certification 
  • Exposure to Monte Carlo tools (@Risk, Crystal Ball, Primavera Risk Analysis) 
  • Experience with Azure Data Services / Microsoft Fabric for enterprise analytics
