Job description


Join a team of development program professionals to manage and lead the Surveillance, Traffic, Aviation, Radars, and Radio (STARR) programs. The product line spans from Weather, Radar, Ground Proximity Warning Systems, Instrumented Landing Systems, Communication, Datalink and Navigation Radios, Transponders, Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems and Radar Altimeters. As a Sr. Program Manager, you will work under minimal supervision of the SBU PMO Leader. You will be fully accountable for executing development programs of moderate to large sizes, ensuring they achieve scope, schedule, cost, delivery, and quality requirements. In this role, you will demonstrate proficient-level program management skills and a thorough understanding of multiple workstreams (of functions and Centers of Excellence). You will manage and lead development programs that may span several major domestic and worldwide locations, requiring coordination of technology development and production across locations. You must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge & drive on-time execution of the Honeywel Aerospace l IPDS phase gates. You will report directly to our Sr. Director Program Manager, and you'll work on a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage program management function and oversee program activities.
  • Develop and implement program management strategies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with program management standards and guidelines.
  • Manage program performance metrics and reporting
  • Generate, implement program plans and business requirements within approved budget and schedule constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with various Customer Business Teams to ensure their application programs are supported for technical performance, schedule, and cost requirements
  • Employ PM tools and development processes, including statement-of-work (SOW), work-breakdown- structure (WBS), basis-of-estimate (BOE) management, scope / requirements management, scheduling, and cost management
  • Adhere to Honeywell Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) processes and Phase Gate rigor
  • Establish and own a programmatic Management Operating System (MOS)
  • Execute on scope, schedule, cost, delivery, and quality demonstrating program management skills in the following areas:
    o Requirements Management and Fulfillment; Planning / Estimation, including resource, material, capital, and other needs
    o Scheduling, including resource-loading and critical path analysis
    o SOW-thru-WBS-thru-BOE-thru-resourced Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
    o Earned Value Management
    o Financials (ex. RDE, spend, forecast, variance)
    o Risk Management (Identification & Mitigation)
    o Reporting / Reviews, and Communications
  • Partner with key product management, business, PMO, engineering, certification, integrated supply chain, customer and product support, and other representation to understand, define, prioritize, status, and deliver upon requirements
  • Facilitate forecasting and capacity analysis related to delivery requirements
  • Establish and maintain the channels of communication to assure timely management awareness of program progress and issues
  • Present programmatic details, requirements, actions status to leadership, technical, and functional audiences.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field
  • At least 5 years of work experience in program/project management
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills

  • Project development process to commercial standard DO-178C and DO-254.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
  • Willingness to raise standards each year to drive organizational excellence
  • Ability to make sound and timely judgments in ambiguous environment
  • Lead/drive change, and influence/mentor others
  • Experience with Jira, MS Project and Office tools
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certification

The annual base salary range for this position in Minnesota is $166,000- $207,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
