Shuttleworth, based in Huntington, Indiana, is searching for a Program Manager. This position leads Shuttleworth's Project Management team, building upon Shuttleworth's project management procedures while utilizing PMBOK standards to deliver our project portfolio on time, on budget, and meeting all stakeholder expectations on quality and scope.
Shuttleworth is seeking a Program Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of Shuttleworth's larger and more complex projects, lead and develop the Project Management team, and work across departments to continuously improve how Shuttleworth plans and executes projects.
  • Manage a portfolio of Shuttleworth's larger and more complex projects, delivering on time, on budget, and meeting all stakeholder expectations of quality and scope.
  • Lead the Project Management team, mentoring and developing Project Managers and supporting their growth into more complex project work.
  • Assign and coordinate Project Management resources across the team's project portfolio, balancing workload against project size and complexity.
  • Review and approve change orders across the project portfolio, ensuring appropriate scope, pricing, and margin.
  • Partner with other Shuttleworth managers across Engineering, Applications, Manufacturing, Aftermarket, and Sales to align resources and resolve cross-department issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, serving as an escalation point and representing Shuttleworth on complex or at-risk projects.
  • Assist in establishing and controlling project budgets, monitoring profit variance across the team's portfolio and addressing negative trends.
  • Continuously improve Shuttleworth's Project Management processes, tools, and standards.
  • Provide oversight on projects at risk, stepping in as needed to stabilize schedule, budget, or scope.
  • Communicate project and team performance to Shuttleworth leadership, providing visibility into the health of the portfolio.
  • Participate in the sales-to-project handoff, supporting estimating, scheduling forecasts, and proposal review.
  • Work with other departments to build relationships and drive improvement in Shuttleworth's project management processes.
  • Complete annual performance reviews and development plans for direct reports.
  • Generate system change orders and support negotiations for price, delivery, and scope changes on larger projects.
  • Analyze cost accounting data to determine future system and process improvements.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year College or university or other technical degree or trade school
  • OR 8+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • PMP Certification preferred; Engineering degree preferred.
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring other Project Managers preferred.
  • Automation design and build experience preferred
  • Equipment start-up and debugging experience preferred
  • Experience and/or education in basic financials; conversant with concepts of project ROI, net profit variance, discounted cash flows, and depreciation.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of multiple large, complex projects with ability to re-prioritize as required.
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills are critical.
  • Proficient with entire MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interact well with customers, and to take a leadership position both internally and with customers.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects within defined budgets and timelines.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general technical procedures, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
