Practice Manager - Multispecialty- Brooklyn, NY
NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Groups (NYPMG) are part of the physician enterprise of NewYork-Presbyterian, one of the nation's most comprehensive academic health care delivery systems affiliated with two world-renowned medical schools. Through primary care and multispecialty medical practices, the physicians and other health care professionals of NYPMG, in collaboration with ColumbiaDoctors and Weill Cornell Physicians, provide families with high quality, patient-centered care close to home in the New York metropolitan area.
Exciting opportunity to join our growing Surgery team!
As a Practice Manager, you will help mentor, inspire and engage staff. You will be responsible for daily operations, practice leadership and setting short-term and long-term goals for the General Surgery practice.
  • Manage practice operations budget, registration, scheduling, visit closing, billing/collection and clinical information processes and systems are functioning effectively and on a timely basis.
  • Ensure effective operations in accordance with established NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group (NYPMG) procedures.
  • Determines work schedules, including holiday and vacation time.
  • Cultivates teamwork with high level of communication amongst staff.
  • Work closely with Directors to implement workflows to improve patient access and patient satisfaction.
  • Coordinate activities, tools, etc. with other office and hospital departments/practices and service groups, as necessary.
  • Maintain practice standards and adhere to quality goals and other performance criteria including budget to actual volumes.
  • Preserve a safe environment including office procedures to sustain a high level of patient and staff safety.
  • Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to NYPMG policies and procedures.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned
  • This is a Full time position you must be flexible with schedule based on Practice needs to work Monday through Friday and Saturdays if needed, with a varied schedule of 8:00AM to 6:00PM; (hours can be longer).

Additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Preferred Criteria:
  • Experienced Practice Manager in a Multispecialty Practice
  • Masters in healthcare or business administration.
  • 2+ years' Management experience.

Required Criteria:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Knowledge of EHR and practice management billing/scheduling systems.
  • Knowledge of medical information and practice compliance and regulatory standards.
