About the Role
Drybar is seeking a motivated and energetic Assistant Shop Manager to help lead our shop team, deliver an exceptional client experience, and drive revenue growth.
This role blends leadership, operations, marketing, and stylist development to ensure our team consistently delivers the signature Drybar experience. The Assistant Shop Manager partners closely with the Shop Manager to support daily operations, develop team members, and grow the business through strong performance, retail success, and community engagement.
This position is ideal for a licensed cosmetologist with leadership potential who enjoys coaching teams, building client relationships, and helping a business grow.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Performance
  • Support shop revenue growth by monitoring and improving key performance metrics
    • Optimize appointment scheduling to maximize revenue while managing labor costs
    • Drive retail performance through product education and upselling strategies
    • Support membership growth, client package sales, and retention initiatives
Marketing & Community Engagement
  • Execute local marketing initiatives including social media, events, and community partnerships• Build brand visibility through outreach with local businesses, schools, and organizations
    • Assist in planning in-shop events, promotions, and recruitment initiatives
    • Represent the Drybar brand with professionalism and enthusiasm
Team Development & Education
  • Train, coach, and mentor stylists and bartenders to elevate service quality
    • Support interviewing, auditioning, onboarding, and training of new hires
    • Provide real-time coaching to improve technique, service timing, and retail success
    • Foster a positive, motivated team culture through mentorship and recognition
Operations & Shop Leadership
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty when the Shop Manager is not present
    • Ensure adherence to brand standards, service protocols, and safety policies
    • Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and smooth daily operations
    • Support inventory management and ordering processes
    • Assist with staffing schedules, payroll tracking, and operational reporting
Qualifications
Required
  • Active state-issued Cosmetology license2-3 years experience in a salon, beauty, or similar service environment
    • Leadership mindset with the ability to motivate and guide a team
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to analyze performance data and communicate results to leadership
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
