What is a manager partner?

Manager Partners are professionals who hold both managerial and partnership roles within a company or organization. They are typically responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing teams, and contributing to high-level decision-making. In many cases, Manager Partners also have an ownership stake in the business and are involved in setting strategic goals, driving growth, and ensuring profitability. Their dual role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and the ability to balance operational responsibilities with long-term planning.

How does a manager partner typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives?

A Manager Partner often acts as a strategic bridge between their organization and external partners, frequently collaborating with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, product development, and customer success. This role involves facilitating communication, aligning partner strategies with business goals, and ensuring smooth execution of joint initiatives. Regular meetings, joint planning sessions, and shared performance metrics are common practices to foster collaboration and drive mutual success. Effective Manager Partners are skilled in stakeholder management, negotiation, and cross-departmental coordination.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a manager partner, and why are they important?

Job description

About Humanly

Humanly builds AI-native hiring software that turns recruiting from a reactive scramble into a predictable system. Built for hourly, frontline, and high-volume hiring, we don't just give teams tools โ€” we deliver pre-vetted, ready-to-hire candidates on demand. Our AI conducts over 9,000 interviews a day for hundreds of customers, including Microsoft, Domino's, MGM Resorts, and Massage Envy.

We recently closed a $25M Series B, and we're using it to accelerate what's already working: expanding the platform, growing the team, and deepening our reach with the companies who rely on us. Headquartered in Bellevue, WA with a team that spans the globe, we're at the stage where the foundation is built, the momentum is real, and the ceiling is wherever we decide to put it.

We call ourselves Human Beans. We take ownership, move fast, and care about doing the right thing โ€” for our customers, for candidates, and for each other. AI is core to what we build, and we're intentionally building a workplace where it's embedded in how we work too. We know the future is changing, and we're changing with it. If that's the kind of place where you do your best work, we'd love to meet you.

The Role

Humanly is at an inflection point โ€” the product is proven, the momentum is real, and the partnership opportunity in front of us is massive. We're looking for a Senior Manager, Partnerships to drive it day to day.

You're joining a partnership motion with real early traction โ€” your job is to execute against it, sharpen it, and scale it. That means identifying the right partners across the HR technology ecosystem, negotiating and launching deals, and running the operating rhythm that turns partnerships into a repeatable revenue channel. You'll own execution day to day, working closely with our CCDO to shape strategy along the way.

You won't be on an island โ€” you'll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Engineering. You're the driver, representing Humanly in rooms with ATS platforms, HRIS providers, payroll companies, staffing firms, and job boards, and you'll be expected to walk out with deals that move the business forward.

AI is core to everything we build at Humanly, and partnerships are no exception. We're looking for someone who sees the AI-powered hiring space for what it is โ€” one of the most dynamic and consequential categories in enterprise software right now โ€” and wants to help execute Humanly's strategy within it.

This is a rare opportunity to build on real early momentum at a company with the funding and ambition to make it matter.

What You'll Do Strategic Partnerships & Alliances
  • Identify, recruit, negotiate, and launch strategic partners across ATS, HRIS, payroll, staffing, job boards, assessments, background screening, benefits, and adjacent HR technology

  • Own the full partnership lifecycle from prospecting through launch and ongoing growth

  • Build and manage a prioritized partner pipeline with defined milestones and next steps

Partner Revenue & Pipeline Generation
  • Generate qualified revenue opportunities through referrals, channel partners, and strategic alliances

  • Develop and manage partner KPIs, pipeline reporting, and forecasting

  • Execute and refine our partner management framework โ€” partner tiers, business plans, and operating cadence

Technology Integrations & Ecosystem Development
  • Own relationships with technology partners throughout evaluation, negotiation, launch, and ongoing growth

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define integration priorities and ensure partner launches are executed successfully

  • Position Humanly as the preferred AI-powered hiring platform within key technology ecosystems

Co-Marketing, Brand & Industry Influence
  • Expand Humanly's influence across the HR technology ecosystem through industry associations, analyst relationships, and strategic communities

  • Launch co-marketing and co-selling initiatives with measurable pipeline impact

  • Build Humanly's reputation as a must-partner-with platform in AI-powered hiring

Strategic Growth & Market Intelligence
  • Surface recommendations that inform product direction, go-to-market strategy, and partnership investments

  • Monitor competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and market shifts to flag opportunities early

  • Serve as a cross-functional partner to Sales, Marketing, and Product leadership

What You'll Bring
  • 5-8+ years in strategic partnerships or business development โ€” specifically within B2B SaaS, with a track record of sourcing and closing deals that generated measurable revenue, not just relationships

  • Deep HR technology ecosystem knowledge โ€” you can navigate conversations with ATS, HRIS, payroll, staffing, and adjacent players without a learning curve

  • Commercial deal experience โ€” you've negotiated referral, reseller, OEM, technology, and strategic alliance agreements and can move a deal from first conversation to signed contract

  • Pipeline and revenue ownership โ€” you speak in metrics: sourced ARR, influenced revenue, partner-attributed pipeline, and you've managed forecasting and KPIs at a function level

  • Cross-functional leadership โ€” you've driven initiatives across Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Engineering and earned alignment without relying on authority

  • AI fluency in your own work โ€” you're already using AI tools to work faster and smarter, not just thinking about it

  • Builder's mentality โ€” you take initiative, execute against a framework without needing everything spelled out, and know how to sharpen a process as you go

Even Better
  • Experience at a high-growth startup between Series A and Series C

  • Existing relationships within the HR technology ecosystem you can activate on day one

  • Experience with both direct and channel sales motions and how partnerships complement both

What We Offer
  • Collaborate with a diverse and passionate team dedicated to transforming the hiring landscape

  • Competitive compensation + equity

  • Company sponsored medical, dental, and vision plans for employees

  • Learning & development stipend

  • Wellness stipend

  • 401(k) program

  • 12 weeks fully paid parental leave

  • Flexible PTO

  • Recognition programs and prizes

  • Company retreats and team building events!
