Job description

POSITION SUMMARY


The AM Operations Manager is a leader responsible for managing morning warehouse and driver operations with emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and execution discipline. This role oversees daily transportation routing, order fulfillment, and workforce performance, while exercising independent judgment to ensure routes are built correctly; orders are staged accurately, and deliveries leave on time.


SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY


The position manages a team of 7 non-3PL warehouse staff and drivers, oversees airline pallet operations and local sales fulfillment. They will handle daily routing and driver dispatch, and oversee daily AM order fulfillment, staging, and loading. The AM Operations Manager serves as the primary operational decision-maker during AM execution; reporting performance, risks, and improvements to Director of Procurement & Operations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Routing & Dispatch Management

• Build, review, and approve daily driver routes with accuracy and efficiency

• Ensure routes align with delivery windows, order size, and capacity

• Verify route details and load accuracy prior to dispatch

• Identify and correct routing errors before trucks leave the dock

Warehouse Operations Oversight

• Direct AM order fulfillment, staging, and loading operations

• Monitor workflow and adjust labor to meet dispatch deadlines

• Ensure warehouse organization and readiness

• Manage non-3PL employees for airline pallet and local sales operations

People Management & Leadership

• Supervise warehouse associates and drivers during the AM shift

• Assign work, set priorities, and manage execution expectations

• Coach, train, and hold employees accountable

• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management

Operational Control

• Exercise independent judgment to resolve operational issues

• Identify execution gaps and implement corrective actions

• Communicate daily results and needs to Operations Manager


QUALIFICATIONS


Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years’ experience in warehouse, logistics, or transportation
  • Forklift Certification
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.

Preferred

  • Routing or dispatch experience
