Job description

Richmond-based supply chain company is seeking to hire a Director of Warehouse Operations that will be responsible for the warehouse operations (totaling 800,000 square feet) - including inventory management, inbound and outbound shipping, assembly, and other related staffing management/supervision. Qualified candidates must have the ability to apply lean management principles to existing operation and the ability to start-up facilities from the ground up.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • College degree required (MBA or Equivalent Experience)
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive management/supervisory experience in automated warehouse/manufacturing operations
  • Must have Warehouse Management System Knowledge & Experience
  • Must have Quality Control System Environment Experience
  • Must have experience working with FDA in food or medical environment
  • Lean Management Training & Implementation Experience required

This Director of Warehouse Operations compensation starts at $135,000/year but can be more depending on experience. Requirements
JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):
  • Responsible for multi-location warehouse operations (light travel will be required)
  • Implements best practice warehouse management design to optimize space, via racking design and other alternatives, to maximize labor productivity
  • Partners with warehouse managers and relevant department manager to ensure coordination of warehouse activities
  • Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials
  • Leads projects and assesses fulfillment results to improve warehouse practices
  • Design a warehouse operating model for both internal and external warehouse management
  • Maintain records of inventories and location for production control and cost accounting
  • Documents materials and supplies shipped
  • Manages all warehouse departmental expenses related to maintaining a safe and productive work environment
  • Responsible for enforcing company policies of conduct and safety
  • Identifies the causes of product losses and takes correction action
  • Promotes team environment and works collaboratively to achieve team goals

DIRECTOR OF WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time exempt position. Work schedules vary within 8 AM-4:30 PM or until work is completed.
