Job description

What We Are Looking For
The primary function of this position is to provide customer service for Kinder Morgan's customers, which includes but is not limited to: monitoring and scheduling shipping and production orders, bill of lading preparation, and management of inventory levels. The incumbent interfaces extensively with terminal operations personnel, co-workers, customers, and regulatory personnel as required.
What You Will Do
  • Manage the flow of inbound and outbound material movements.
  • Produce shipping and production order reports and works closely with operations personnel to ensure timely and efficient completion of all shipping and production orders.
  • Monitors and disseminates barge, truck, rail, and packaging orders from customers to the terminal's operations and fleet departments.
  • Update barge, rail, truck, and drumming database and inputs barge, rail, truck and drumming activity into customer and company inventory and accounting management systems.
  • Distribute daily schedules of barge, truck, rail, packaging, and shipment orders to the operations department.
  • Manage customer inventory at the terminal for both bulk and packaged materials, including ordering materials as necessary to fill production and shipping requirements.
  • Produce performance and tracking reports to management.
  • Record daily inventory levels and locations of bulk and packaged materials at the terminal and assists in all inventory reconciliations.
  • Prepare inventory reports for customers daily.
  • Provide excellent customer service and response to all customer inquiries/concerns.
  • Work with Terminal Management to meet financial targets established in budgets.
  • Provide emergency response to customers within a reasonable time frame.
  • Ensure that all reports, records, and documentation are kept orderly and current.
  • Attend daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings.
  • Perform all work in strict accordance to company policies and procedures.
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to management.
  • Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for all employees and visitors.
  • Other duties as directed or required.

What You Need
Education:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Required Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in customer service.
  • Must be willing to work shift and/or overtime hours during the week, weekends, and holidays as dictated by operations
  • In order to appropriately perform essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Explorer, Outlook, Office, Excel, Word, and Power Point).
  • Good organization and communication skills.
  • Must pass and complete Safety training and any required Kinder Morgan site specific safety training as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by all Kinder Morgan, Inc. locations.
  • Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, keep required work schedule, focus attention to details, and follow work rules.
  • Communicate effectively by email, phone, and onsite meetings.
  • Must treat people with respect, keep commitments, inspire the trust of others, work ethically and with integrity, uphold organizational values.
  • Observes safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials proper and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Ability to add and subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customer needs.
  • Maintain current and up to date files.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, able to properly set priorities, and use time efficiently.
  • Able to remain calm and maintain focus in high volume, stressful and pressure situations.
  • Knowledge in SAP, T-4, TopTech, Galahad, GaugePro
