A well-established manufacturer in the renewable energy industry is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in the Toledo, Ohio area to lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of global software solutions supporting Manufacturing and adjacent business functions.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead global software architecture, development, engineering standards, and technical governance.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop Software Engineering teams and drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Translate business needs into enterprise software solutions, roadmaps, and technical strategies.
  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, AI Assistants, LLMs, and automation.
  • Lead technology evaluations, COTS/vendor selection, RFPs, and global development partnerships.
  • Manage complex software programs, budgets, portfolios, and Agile/Scrum delivery.
  • Partner with global business and technology teams to deliver solutions that improve reliability, reduce cost, and accelerate business value.


Candidates Must Have:

  • 6+ years of software development experience with 3+ years of technical leadership, supervision, or management
  • Experience from a manufacturing setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong expertise in software architecture, application development, SQL/databases, testing, and modern development practices
  • Understanding of AI for the use of improving manufacturing systems
  • Experience with C#/.NET and SQL Server preferred; NoSQL, messaging, OPC, and industrial/manufacturing technologies highly desired
  • Strong business analysis, vendor management, project/portfolio management, and Agile/Scrum experience
