The Manager of Business Development is a critical member of the Vulcan strategic growth team. This role is responsible for assisting the Senior Leadership Team and Division Presidents in defining and executing the overarching growth strategy for Vulcan Materials Company. The position focuses on strategic networking, identifying top-tier expansion targets, providing comprehensive market and competitor intelligence, and analyzing and coordinating mergers and acquisitions.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Research: Research potential markets, analyze trends, and identify new leads and growth targets.

  • Target Pursuit: Establish and maintain relationships with industry peers, leaders, and high-priority targets; develop relationship maps and trackers to ensure regular contact.

  • Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with growth targets, understanding their needs and timing for potential acquisition.

  • Acquisition Management: Provide initial vetting of expansion opportunities and negotiate business terms for acquisition opportunities.

  • Execution & Integration: Lead project teams to close growth deals and oversee the integration of new acquisitions.

  • Market Intelligence: Collect and analyze data to create detailed industry intelligence reports, competitor profiles, and market studies.

  • Networking: Participate in conferences and other industry events to build relationships and expand your network.

Skills You'll Need:
