Job description

Are you ready to lead growth where relationships, technical credibility and result all matter?

Burckhardt Compression Canada Ltd. (BCCA) is looking for a Director of Sales who can see the opportunity, build the strategy and bring people together to deliver it. This is not a role for someone who wants to lead from the sidelines. You will stay close to customers and the market while setting direction, developing the sales team, and creating the discipline needed to turn opportunities into sustainable, profitable growth.

You will have the opportunity to shape Burckhardt Compression's Canadian sales approach, strengthen long-term partnerships, expand business with existing and new customers, and help the team win in a complex industrial market.

You'll be at your best here if....

  • You're both strategic and hands-on.
  • You are curious about the customer's business.
  • You create momentum.
  • You play to win the right way.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Head of Serv, you will lead sales and business development for BCCA. You will be accountable for the annual sales plan and budget, market growth, sales profitability, customer strategy, opportunity quality, and the development and performance of the Canadian sales team.

What you'll lead:

  • Set the growth strategy. Assess the Canadian market, customer base, competitive landscape, market share, SWOT, and emerging activity involving large reciprocating compressors. Translate that insight into a focused annual sales plan.
  • Deliver the numbers. Own annual sales budgets and targets for order intake, invoiced sales, profitability, market share, and priority customers.
  • Grow existing and new business. Strengthen BCCA customer relationships, identify new prospects, and develop opportunities involving BCCA and other brand compressors.
  • Lead from the front. Personally pursue strategic opportunities, prepare and present quotes and field service estimates, negotiate effectively, and move the right opportunities forward.
  • Build strategic customer partnerships.  Visit customer suites regularly, understand operational priorities, follow through after the sale, and act quickly on risks, concerns and opportunities.
  • Develop a high-performing sales team. You'll be walking into a high-performing team. We want that to continue through accountability, strengthen capability and help achieve more ambitious goals.
  • Create commercial discipline. Keep the CRM information current, lead weekly reviews, monitor actions and open issues, assess wins and loses, improve forecast quality, and ensure field service processes are completed on time.
  • Connect customers and the organization. Ensure clear communication among customers, sales, field service, and internal stakeholders, including purchase orders, briefings, debriefings, change orders and documentation.
  • Stay technically credible. Maintain strong knowledge of assigned products and services and continue learning so customers and the team can rely on your judgement.

What you'll bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration, an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years successful business-to-business industrial sales experience. Experience selling or services large reciprocating compressors is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated success developing sales strategies, prospecting, qualifying opportunities, forecasting, negotiating, and building relationships with customer decision-makers and influencers.
  • The ability to connect technical solutions to customer needs, commercial value, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing sales professionals and creating accountability for results.
  • Strong business judgement, integrity, reliability, maturity, and a professional presence.
  • Excellent listening, presentation, written communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving, results-driven environment without losing attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems, MS Office, and CoPilot.

Why BCCA?

We have a strong team culture and atmosphere. You are passionate about providing the best compressions solutions for a sustainable energy future. You'll be a part of a very collaborative, intentional and international environment where you will continue to learn, grow and develop. We take care of our people through excellent pay, incentives, vacation and benefits. Our values shape how we work and how we lead. If you are energized by representing a global brand with a long history and a future-focused purpose by building markets, developing people and creating customer partnerships that drive measurable results, we would like to hear from you.
