What is a manager of product?

A Manager of Product, often known as a Product Manager, is responsible for overseeing the development and lifecycle of a product or product line within a company. They work closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support to define product vision, strategy, and requirements. Their role involves setting priorities, managing the product roadmap, and ensuring that the final product meets both customer needs and business objectives. Product Managers also analyze market trends and customer feedback to guide product improvements and innovation.

How does a manager of product typically collaborate with cross-functional teams?

A Manager of Product frequently works alongside engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure products are developed and launched successfully. This collaboration involves organizing regular meetings, clearly communicating product vision and requirements, and addressing any issues that arise during the development lifecycle. ProEdge Dental Water Labs

Full-time

Job description

About ProEdge Dental Water Labs:
ProEdge Dental Water Labs is a team of selfless builders. By putting our focus on the success of customers, we've created a healthy, quickly-growing, and dynamic company. Our ~60 team members have taken on a significant challenge: transform compliance in the dental practice - often a distinct pain for our customers - into a culture of shared purpose for the safety of patients and staff. By keeping our promises and developing value-based solutions, we've created an emerging brand in dental.
Because of that, at ProEdge "good work" is table stakes. What we're building requires something rarer from its leaders: those who choose the harder path for the sake of the team, who continue to grow even when they're already good, and who bring the kind of relentless pursuit of delivering concrete value to the customer, not just building a stronger resume. This is a place for low-ego, high-agency, problem-solvers who think deeply and execute to excellence.
If you're looking for a role where you can own meaningful problems, build with a great team, and transform an entire category through trust... keep reading.
Director of Product Opportunity:
ProEdge is seeking a Director of Product to lead the execution of our product vision-building solutions customers love, improving measurable outcomes in compliance and retention, and expanding our offering over the next three years. This leader will own much of the product development lifecycle, including ideation, strategy, development, validation, and post-launch optimization.
This is a senior leadership role in a fast-growing organization. You'll own researching new opportunities, piloting solutions with dental's largest customers, innovating our revenue model, and unifying a diverse cross-functional team around one clear roadmap and standard of excellence.
If you're an ambitious leader who consistently delivers results and pushes for tangible value innovation, yet leads with true humility, transparency, and collaboration... keep reading.
Success Looks Like:
  1. Identify and develop at least one new market-shaking product per year (either through internal development or acquisition)
  2. Developing innovative digital product features that make marked improvement in customer compliance and auto-ship subscriptions
  3. Spearheading the quarterly release of scientific and compliance data insights fueling our brand as thought-leader in 12 months
  4. Accelerating enhancements to existing products, ensuring 3 improvements make it to market in the next 16 months
  5. Crafting a data-driven multi-year product roadmap with clear market analysis by 18 months
  6. Architecting innovative revenue models around our digital platform.
The Toolkit You'll Bring:
  • Strategic - Candidate translates vision into strategy, creating effective team, processes, and plans
  • Results - Candidate has a strong record of products delivered to market that customers love
  • Collaborative - Candidate seeks out others' ideas and critiques, while not needing consensus
  • Entrepreneurial Grit - Candidate works hard, gets hands dirty, and moves things forward even with setbacks
  • High standards - Candidate is unsatisfied with products that sell but don't deliver
Who You'll Be (in real life):
  • Humble - Candidate is team-first and self-improving
  • Transparent - Candidate tells the truth even when it may put them in a vulnerable position
  • Customer-obsessed - Candidate makes the customer the central focus of their entire process
  • Discerning - Candidate makes consistently wise decisions
  • Smart - Candidate clearly communicates their thinking, distilling, and learning
A Note About In-Office Requirement:
This is an in-office leadership role with a core schedule of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. ProEdge genuinely cares about the health of all team members. All of us are real people with real lives - appointments, kids get sick, moments at home we wouldn't dare miss, or the every-so-often need for a deep focus day away from the pop-ins. We're a team that supports each other, including when those realities pop up, and offer overflowing flexibility.
That said, being a senior leader at ProEdge means you're one of the main keepers of our culture and alignment and that happens best when you're here, shoulder to shoulder with your team, the bulk of the time . Remote leadership doesn't deliver the same magic for us. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being part of an in-person leadership team and wants to help shape our culture in the every day.
Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary range of $180,000 to $220,000 plus annual bonus based on performance/profitability
  • Employee Medical, Dental, & Vision + Spouse and โ€ข Dependent contributions
  • 4% Pre-Tax Employer Match 401k
  • Accrued paid time off (PTO) earning up to 4 weeks annually
  • 1 Week of Paid Synchronized Organizational Rest at Year-End
  • 6 Additional Paid Holidays
  • 360 Leadership Assessment & Internal Leadership Coaching
  • Employer paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, paid life insurance
