Job description

CITITRENDS is seeking a Director of Process Improvement who understands that in retail, labor isn't just a cost - it's a competitive advantage. This role sits at the intersection of store operations, finance, merchandising, HR, and data, ensuring every labor dollar drives sales productivity, operational efficiency, and an exceptional customer experience.
What you'll own
You'll lead enterprise labor strategy across a multi-unit retail environment - designing labor models, optimizing scheduling, and driving operational improvements that show up in the P&L and in-store execution
  • Build and refine labor models tied to traffic, volume, and operational complexity
  • Establish and manage key metrics like sales per labor hour, labor % to sales, and overtime
  • Partner with Finance & BI to forecast, track, and improve labor performance
  • Turn data into clear, actionable insights for field leader

Where you'll make impact
This is not a sit-behind-the-desk analytics role. This is about getting into stores, understanding workflows, and making them better
  • Lead operational reviews to identify inefficiencies and simplify processes
  • Drive continuous improvement (Lean, simplification)
  • Standardize best practices across stores for consistent execution
  • Improve productivity while protecting the customer and associate experience

How you'll lead:
Success in this role comes down to influence
  • Partner directly with field leaders to implement labor strategy
  • Support rollout of scheduling tools and productivity initiatives
  • Lead change management across a fast-paced, multi-unit environment

What we're looking for
  • Background in retail, distribution, or multi-unit operations
  • Direct ownership of labor metrics tied to sales performance
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, imperfect data environment
  • Strong ability to influence operators - not just analyze numbers
  • 8-10+ years in labor planning, operations, or workforce analytics
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives

Why this role matters: This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll help shape how we run our stores - improving profitability, execution, and the overall customer experience at scale.
Equal Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
