THE ORGANIZATION

Feeding Westchester is looking for people with the passion, courage, and creativity to create meaningful change in the lives of others. As a member of the Feeding America network of food banks and Westchester County’s leading hunger relief organization, we moved 21.1 million pounds of food to agencies and partners across Westchester County, including food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, and schools last fiscal year. We supplied 17.5 million meals to children, families, and seniors, mobilized 6,000 volunteers, and raised over $14.6 million in donations to help end hunger.

Feeding Westchester's mission is to nourish our neighbors in the fight against hunger. As the heart of a network of 175 partners, we source and distribute food, and other resources, to communities across Westchester. THE OPPORTUNITY

Feeding Westchester seeks a collaborative, strategic, and mission-driven professional fundraiser to lead, execute, and manage the mid-level program and Individual Peer to Peer (P2P) fundraising program. The Manager, Individual Giving cultivates a portfolio of ~350 donors toward major gift readiness, guides the Associate, Individual Giving on the management of a broader, early mid-level portfolio, and stewards a portfolio of ~65 community members who fundraise on behalf of Feeding Westchester. This role also has the exciting opportunity to co-lead the pilot of a new Youth Hunger Committee to grow our fundraising and engagement pipeline for youth, working in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team to promote visibility. This role reports to the Director of Individual Giving and works in close collaboration with the entire Individual Giving & Foundation team to increase the engagement, support, and commitment of Feeding Westchester’s diverse pool of donors, volunteers and advocates to achieve revenue, retention, acquisition, and elevation goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mid-Level Program & Donor Portfolio:

  • Develop, manage, and update the mid-level team’s strategies for identification, solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of Mid-Level donors, in collaboration with Direct Mail and Marketing Team.
  • Manages portfolio of around 350 mid-level donors ($1,000-$9,999), including some major donor prospects ($10,000+), tiering them based on giving history, available research, and engagement potential.
  • Works collaboratively with Associate, Individual Giving (who also reports to Director, Individual Giving) and the larger Individual Giving & Foundation team to execute donor strategy across channels to supports the fundraising revenue goal; assists with annual budgeting and tracks regular revenue performance.
  • Develops, cultivates, retains, and grows donor relationships by thanking, updating, and engaging donors to deepen their relationship with Feeding Westchester.
  • Facilitates quarterly portfolio refresh efforts; develop and implement strategies to encourage donor pipeline flow that will bring direct mail, recurring, and P2P donors into mid-level, and encouraging actions that qualify donors into Major Gifts.
  • Executes donor strategy through email, phone, meetings, site tours, volunteer opportunities, mail, and timely follow-up, and records all actions and new information in donor database in an accurate, detailed, and timely manner.
  • Helps maintain accurate donor classifications and records in coordination with Development Operations team.
  • Conducts analysis on mid-level program health by tracking and documenting measurable KPIs year over year, and developing revenue, retention, and elevation reports
  • Partners with Corporate, Community and Events (CCE) team on overlap, growth, and prospecting opportunities.


Peer to Peer (P2P) & Youth Hunger Committee:

  • Co-launch the pilot of the Youth Hunger Committee in partnership with other team members by overseeing member (ages 12-18) recruitment, onboarding, and cultivation through quarterly meetings and engagement opportunities; ensuring continuing strategy alignment with peer-to-peer fundraising priorities; and tracking program metrics.
  • Manage the growth of the P2P program in partnership with Corporate, Community, and Events team and Marketing and Communications team, with a focus on stewardship and automation, to set goals and keep toolkits, templates and standards of practice up to date.
  • Manage the identification, conversion, cultivation, and stewardship of new, prospective, and returning Individual P2P captains to retain their fundraising efforts and convert them and their networks into regular mission-driven donors.
  • Maintains consistent tracking of P2P campaigns and overall performance of program with year-over-year KPI tracking.
  • Develop and cultivate captain relationships by thanking, updating, and engaging them to deepen their relationship with Feeding Westchester and grow their online fundraiser goals.
  • Craft and execute a stewardship plan including updates, invites to events and town halls, reports, and thank you efforts.
  • Promote and advocate for ongoing visibility opportunities with Marketing and Communications team to engage new fundraisers through social media and marketing, maintaining a focus on DEIB to ensure fundraising inclusivity.


General responsibilities:

  • Commits to learning Feeding Westchester Key Messaging and larger food banking knowledge to accurately represent and speak on behalf of Feeding Westchester externally.
  • Researches donors and prospects, utilizing wealth screening tools DonorSearch and Hatch, in collaboration with Associate, Individual Giving.
  • Assists in writing donor communication and solicitation materials in collaboration with Development, and Marketing and Communications.
  • Works collaboratively with Volunteer Team to help connect donors to mission as well as identify new potential donors.
  • Assists as needed with unexpected donor visits and communication, and for both internal and external events, such as Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, annual gala, or Golden Scoop.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as needed and always works in a collaborative manner with the larger Development Department and entire Feeding Westchester staff.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


Required Knowledge

  • Three plus (3+) years of fundraising or equivalent experience
    Strong project management and organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be strong user of CRM software (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with staff and donors.
  • Very comfortable working with numbers, creating spreadsheets and performing data analysis.
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated proactive approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Resourceful and collaborative team player, with emotional maturity and ability to be effective independently.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response.
  • Actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle to ensure ability to travel independently for Feeding Westchester business.

Physical Requirements

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid in office/remote position, with 2-3 in office days required per week, and additional as needed.
