Quest Industrial, with production locations in Middleton and Monroe, WI, is looking for a talented Director of Operations. In this role, you'll be involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations and entrusted to take ownership of our multi-facility operation. You'll be accountable for developing the team, managing individual and collective performance, leading a high-performing culture with excellent communication, and ensuring that both productivity and customer service quality are maximized.

  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring alignment across assembly, fabrication and materials group.

  • Provide leadership, direction and accountability to the operations team.

  • Connect internal departments and improve communication to ensure priorities, issues and decisions are clearly understood.

  • Quickly identify challenges on the production floor and work with the appropriate teams to develop practical solutions.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of mechatronic machinery and automated equipment to effectively support operational decisions and machine readiness.

  • Manage the production schedule and manufacturing controls to support on-time delivery and efficient use of resources.

  • Monitor employee productivity, labor utilization, material usage, production costs, quality and First Time Right performance.

  • Ensure machines are built to the highest quality standards while meeting customer delivery requirements and cost targets.

  • Establish and maintain quality controls to ensure machines comply with internal standards and customer requirements.

  • Work with engineering, supply chain and other departments to resolve issues that may affect machine quality or delivery.

  • Maintain accountability for the operational P&L, including product costs, margines, labor absorption and operational expenses.

  • Develop and manage short-term and long-range operational plans and budgets based on business goals.

  • Monitor key operational metrics and provide monthly reporting on performance, progress and areas requiring improvement.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, increase output, reduce costs and support profitability.

  • Develop, implement and monitor operational systems, processes and standards.

  • Create visibility into the goals, progress and obstacles of key operational initiatives.

  • Establish and enforce operating standards, including inventory controls and procedures to prevent shrinkage.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to support the company's business strategy.

  • Build strong working relationships with department leaders, external partners and vendors.

  • Maintain the overall condition and organization of the facility, including fabrication areas, warehouse space and the assembly floor.

  • Oversee planned maintenance for the building, production equipment and supporting systems.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, operations management, business administration, or similar preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software applications.

  • Driven to solve complex challenges and not afraid to get hands dirty/be hands on.

  • Automation industry experience preferred.
