We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our Copper Manufacturing Team in Claremont, N.C.
General Summary
The Operations Manager position requires you to lead day-to-day operations and long-term planning for Broadband's Copper value stream.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Setting goals, improving technologies, resolving problems, and developing operational plans, budgets, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborating with production supervisors, process engineers, and materials planners to optimize resource utilization and achieve targets.
  • Managing the hiring, mentoring, performance, and employee relations of both direct and matrixed reports.
  • Overseeing capacity expansion, new product development.
  • Driving initiatives for efficiency, cost reduction, and process improvements.
  • Translating customer requirements into innovative manufacturing strategies and processes to optimize cable production.
  • Leading the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives to support site operations in achieving their goals.
  • Taking proactive measures to promote safety, quality, inventory management, and efficiency.
  • Implementing and facilitating of site EHS objectives and initiatives as applicable.
  • Taking responsibility for Identifying, minimizing, and mitigating environmental impacts of site processes and activities as applicable.

Required Qualifications for Consideration
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Industrial Technology or related area.
  • 8+ years' experience in manufacturing operations and running large teams, including shift supervisors and manufacturing personnel working in a dynamic 24/7 environment.
  • 3 years' experience in people management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of cable extrusions.

Desirable Qualifications Job Specifications
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma and SAP, as well as strong ERP experience
  • Worked with various customers and suppliers in a low-volume high mix industry, using business intuition and time management skills to lead multiple projects and handle various demands, while managing a diverse group of employees.
  • Proven capability to coordinate business goals while driving accountability for results, thus improving the overall efficiency of extended value streams
