Description
GENERAL FUNCTION
This position is responsible for all aspects of the overall operation and administration of YMCA Wellness Center under the direction of the Member Experience Director. This includes supervising, overseeing, and supporting all members using the facility in cleanliness, immediate needs of members, upholding policies and monitoring 24/7 access. If personal trained certified, conducting training sessions and consultations. This is to be accomplished within the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the Stevens Point Area YMCA and within the recommendations of our national medical advisory board.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Supervise and monitor the wellness center area and pickleball courts.
2. Maintain program information files and database, usage totals, equipment cleaning and maintenance logs.
3. Assist with the marketing and promotion of all programs and services under Member Experience Director direction.
4. Assist with YMCA Special Events and collaborations within our community.
5. Ensure your certifications are updated, documented, and current.
6. Attend and actively participate in program staff meetings.
7. Provide a minimum of 20% of hours per week of direct service to our members. Lead and direct those activities where volunteers or paid staff cannot be secured.
8. Perform all duties prescribed for Manager on Duty to include rotation of weekend MOD coverage.
9. Adjust work schedule to accommodate oversight of entire fitness department to include morning, evening, and/or weekend hours.
10. Adhere to all YMCA policies, procedures, and regulations.
11. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a highly motivated person with enthusiastic leadership ability and strong background in fitness. Personal training certification is required or willing to obtain. Proficiency in computer operations, ability to manage fiscal resources, effective verbal and written communication skills along with a solid background in supervision required. Wellness Center Coordinator must have CPR and First Aid certification. The incumbent will exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of work for the YMCA.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires employee to observe, support, and evaluate groups of members and staff by sight, sound, and active interaction. Must be able to easily move through all areas of our facility and communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Must be able to routinely demonstrate proper exercise technique to members and staff.
Salary Description
$14.00/hour
