Job description

Position Summary
Provide business development effort to obtain work in the private sector and certain public projects requiring special proposals or alternative contracting methods, i.e design-build or construction management to produce on annual sales and gross margin goals.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Identify, select, cultivate and consummate new work opportunities consistent with overall company goals and strengths. A specific task is to seek opportunities that take advantage of our ability to function as construction manager of all site work on a project.
  • Develop relationships with new and potential clients that result in the selection of Branch Civil as the contractor of new contracts.
  • Develop strategic relationships with selected architectural/engineering firms that lead to preferred referrals with potential clients and/or partnerships in alternative contracting methods projects.
  • Develop and implement (with approval of Vice President) marketing/advertising initiatives to enhance business development goals and establish an identity as the contractor of choice.
  • Assist in the preparation of responses to RFPs and their related presentations making sure all proposals/presentations are clear, complete and professional.

Duties/Responsibilities Cont.
  • Create and maintain brochures, flyers, and other literature to be used in business development efforts.
  • Work with IT department on maintenance/updating pictures and project listing on company website.
  • Provide monthly report of Business Development activities. Report shall include at minimum, potential leads, short and long term prospects, proposals submitted and short and long term market conditions.
  • Develop relationships with economic development agencies to gain early notice of upcoming projects.
  • Perform in such a manner that relationships result in repeat business.

Qualifications
  • Four (4) year college degree in construction related field or business administration.
  • Six to ten years in construction with four years in business development.
  • Effective presentation methods, skills and knowledge that will enhance possibility of selection by client.
