The opportunity
Delaware North is seeking a Director, Global Accounting Operations to join our Global Accounting Services team based at our global headquarters in Buffalo, New York. The Director, Global Accounting Operations is responsible for leading process optimization, shared services centralization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the global accounting function. This role is a key leader in evolving Delaware North's finance shared services vision by identifying and transitioning field-based accounting activities into Global Accounting Services, strengthening finance operations through robust policies, procedures, and internal controls, and improving service delivery.
Pay
Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $178,400 - $224,700 / year
In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?
  • Strengthen finance operations through development and oversight of policies, procedures, and a strong internal controls framework across core shared-services processes
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and transition of field-based accounting activities into Global Accounting Services to support shared services centralization, standardization, and operational efficiency
  • Drive end-to-end process optimization across Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Order to Cash to reduce barriers, improve accuracy, and support consistent service delivery
  • Partner with Financial Systems and Accounting leaders to align process ownership, requirements, testing, issue resolution, and performance monitoring for finance technology changes and implementations
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee finance policies, procedures, and operating standards to support consistency, accountability, and a strong internal controls framework across finance operations
  • Provide change management leadership for new processes, system enhancements, and organizational changes by facilitating cross-functional collaboration, training support, stakeholder alignment, and adoption planning
  • Utilize key performance indicators, dashboards, analytics, and post-implementation reviews to measure operating effectiveness, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead documentation, cross-training, and team capability development to reduce key-person dependency and support the continued evolution of Global Accounting Services as a Center of Excellence

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • CPA required
  • 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including 7 years in public accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting operations, controls, and finance process design in a complex environment is required
  • Leadership experience required
  • Shared services, outsourcing, process improvement, or finance operations management experience is preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, OneStream, BlackLine, Alteryx, or similar tools preferred
  • Experience with audit, SOX/internal controls, and governance frameworks, along with policy development, procedure governance, change management, and performance monitoring
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across Accounting, Financial Systems, and business teams
  • Experience leveraging data, reporting, analytics, and automation to improve finance process performance and operating insight
