Summary
The Manager - Ocean Carrier Services Operations Optimization II role collaborates with senior leaderships to drive commercial and operational initiatives, emphasizing trade lane development, and cargo segment strategies for High and Heavy equipment manufacturers. This person will be responsible for overseeing daily communications, gathering and analyzing shipment forecasts, addressing rate inquiries, and facilitating cross-functional coordination and special projects.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee monthly vessel allocation and scheduling, ensuring optimal utilization of assigned vessels
    • Maintain effective communication with High and Heavy customers as well as the commercial and operational teams in the United States and Mexico to coordinate and align regional strategies
    • Provide operational and strategic support to Trade Lane Managers overseeing key shipping routes, including U.S to Middle East, U.S to West Africa, East Coast to West Coast South America, and Mexico to U.S East Coast (USEC) trade lanes
    • Oversee and facilitate the collection of outstanding payments for ocean freight services, ensuring timely receipt of funds, and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records
    • Actively engage in system enhancement meeting and contribute to ongoing accounts receivable (AR) discussions, focusing on process optimization to improve efficiency and effectiveness
    • Consistently deliver exceptional service that exceeds customer expectations, ensuring satisfaction at every interaction
    • Oversee and optimize existing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data transfers to ensure seamless and secure information exchange
    • Collaborate on the implementation of new EDI integrations, including third-party applications like FreightVerify, to enhance system efficiency and data accuracy
    • Direct and manage team efforts, ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with organizational expectations and quality benchmarks
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring their growth and alignment with organizational objectives
    • Conduct in-depth market research across all trade sectors by leveraging third-party research tools and industry networks to gather and analyze relevant data
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with both new and existing clients to effectively promote Hyundai Glovis's comprehensive logistics solutions
    • Provide comprehensive assistance for global sport rate inquiries and requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses that meet Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) regulations
    • Conduct thorough reviews of all customs documentation, including Automated Manifest System (AMS), Importer Security Filing (ISF), and Foreign Remaining On Board (FROB) entries to guarantee adherence to regulatory requirements
    • Other duties as assigned

Compensation
$117,000-$124,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

  • 4 - 7 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
  • 7 - 10+ Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred
  • Specialized Trade Training Preferred
  • HAZMAT Training Certificate Preferred
