The Engineerย will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, andย maintainingย secure and reliable network infrastructures for ourย SunStateย Medical practiceย locatedย in Florida. Working closely with the IT team and practice managers, you will ensure seamless connectivity, optimize network performance, and contribute to the overall success of our healthcare operations.?ย Yourย expertiseย will contribute to safeguarding sensitive healthcare data andย maintainingย the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and information.ย This roleย will also beย instrumentalย execution of major IT projectsย andย lifecycleย refreshย of practice network hardware.ย 
This is a full time,ย fixed-term,ย 12 monthย contract role.ย Onsite presence may beย requiredย at times in Orlando, FL.ย ย 
ย Responsibilitiesย 

  • Design and implement robust and scalable network architectures forย SunStateย Medical, considering factors such as security, performance, and reliability.ย 
  • Configure and deploy network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, ensuring proper connectivity and integration.ย 
  • Assistย with project execution tasks throughout the SMS Practices and the Orlando datacenter.ย 
  • Implement andย maintainย network security measures to safeguard sensitive patient data andย comply withย healthcare security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST).ย 
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic for anomalies and security breaches, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks.ย 
  • Monitor network performance and analyze data toย identifyย bottlenecks, latency issues, and other network-related problems.ย 
  • Optimize network configurations and protocols to ensure efficient data transmission and reliable connectivity.ย 
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensureย timelyย resolution.ย 
  • Conduct root cause analysis of network incidents and implement preventive measures.ย 
  • Maintainย accurateย and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.ย 
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and firmware updates to ensure network reliability and security.ย 
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with minimal disruption to clinical operations.ย 
  • Provide guidance and mentorship, sharing knowledge and best practicesย

  • Fortinetย networks experienceย required.ย 
  • Palo Alto Firewall Experience is a plus.ย 
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network environments, preferably in a healthcare or medical practice setting.ย 
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, security, and troubleshooting techniques.ย 
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST.ย 
  • Proficiencyย in network monitoring and management tools.ย
