What is a manager nanny?

Manager Nannies are professional child caregivers who not only provide traditional nanny services, such as supervising and caring for children, but also take on additional responsibilities related to managing household and family logistics. They often coordinate schedules, oversee other household staff, plan children's activities, and assist with family errands. Their role bridges childcare and family administration, making them an invaluable resource for busy families who need support beyond basic childcare.

What does a manager nanny do?

A Manager Nanny is unique in that they are responsible for both managing household logistics and providing direct childcare. This often means structuring their day to handle scheduling, organizing activities, and coordinating with parents or other staff, while still engaging directly with the children for educational and recreational activities. The key to success in this role is strong organization and communication, ensuring that both administrative tasks and the children’s needs are met seamlessly. Collaborating closely with families and other household employees helps to maintain a well-run environment while prioritizing the well-being and development of the children in their care.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a manager nanny?

To thrive as a Manager Nanny, you need a strong background in childcare, household management, and often a relevant certification such as CPR/First Aid or early childhood education. Familiarity with scheduling software, communication tools, and household budgeting systems is commonly required. Exceptional organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to communicate well with both children and parents are important soft skills. These skills ensure the smooth running of the household, the safety and development of children, and effective collaboration with families.

Job description

Sales Manager

Sheehan Buick GMC  •  Broward County, FL

Build Something. Don't Just Run Something.

Sheehan Buick GMC — part of a family-owned dealer group serving South Florida for over 80 years — is hiring a Sales Manager who thinks like a builder, not a babysitter.

We're not looking for someone to maintain the status quo. We're looking for a leader who sees a sales floor as a development pipeline, treats every lead source as an opportunity to improve, and believes the best months are the ones we haven't had yet.

If your proudest career moments are about the people you developed and the processes you improved — not just the deals you closed — keep reading.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A coach first. You develop green salespeople into producers and producers into future managers. You'd rather build a closer than be the closer (though you can still hang a deal with the best of them).
  • Growth-obsessed. You look at last month's numbers and ask “where's the next 10%?” — in lead handling, appointment show rates, desking discipline, or inventory turn.
  • Digitally fluent. You understand that today's deal starts online. You're comfortable with CRM accountability, internet lead response, digital retailing tools, and working hand-in-hand with a BDC.
  • Accountable and even-keeled. You set the example for professionalism and enthusiasm — high standards without the drama.
  • GM-experienced (preferred). Buick, GMC, or Cadillac sales management experience is a real advantage, but a proven growth track record matters most.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Hitting monthly volume and gross profit objectives — and building the plan to beat them
  • Recruiting, training, and developing a team of new and used vehicle sales professionals
  • Desking deals with discipline and assisting your team in closing when needed
  • Driving CRM usage, internet lead follow-up, and appointment culture alongside our BDC
  • Creating a customer experience that builds repeat and referral business, not just this month's units
  • Collaborating with F&I, service, and marketing to maximize every opportunity in the store
  • Setting the tone on the floor: enthusiasm, accountability, and a professional management style every day

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A real growth path — we promote from within and invest in our leaders
  • Store hours that respect family life
  • A culture where employees are valued — many of our people have been here for decades
  • Demo allowance
  • Paid training and manufacturer bonuses
  • Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Employee purchase program
  • Life in South Florida — no state income tax, and no snow shovel required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven automotive sales management or strong assistant/desk manager experience
  • Comfortable with performance-based, commission-driven compensation
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Genuine interest in training and developing others within a team environment
  • Clean, valid driver's license
  • Willing to complete a pre-employment drug screen
