Job description

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced IT Manager for our client, a real-time analytical database built for AI workloads. This is a full-time position based in Menlo Park, CA, currently offering a hybrid schedule.


POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to own and scale their internal IT function. This is a true build-and-run opportunity for someone who enjoys creating processes, supporting employees, and building the foundation for a growing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal IT support across a hybrid, Mac-first environment.
  • Provide day-to-day help desk support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and SaaS applications.
  • Own employee onboarding and offboarding, including hardware provisioning, account creation, access management, and equipment recovery.
  • Administer Okta for identity and access management and implement/manage an MDM solution such as Jamf, Kandji, or Mosyle.
  • Manage IT assets, hardware inventory, software licensing, and vendor relationships.
  • Administer and support core business applications including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Claude Enterprise, OpenAI, and other SaaS platforms.
  • Partner with leadership on endpoint security, access controls, and SOC 2/ISO compliance initiatives.
  • Create scalable IT documentation, processes, and best practices to support a rapidly growing organization.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 to 8 years of hands-on Corporate IT, IT Administration, or IT Management experience.
  • Experience supporting employees in a Series A or Series B startup or other high-growth technology company.
  • Experience as the first or sole internal IT resource is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience supporting a Mac-first environment.
  • Hands-on administration of Okta or similar Identity & Access Management (IAM) platform.
  • Experience implementing or managing Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, or another MDM solution.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and modern SaaS applications.
  • Proven experience managing employee onboarding, offboarding, hardware provisioning, and access management.
  • Experience managing IT assets, software licensing, and vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security best practices and supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance initiatives.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, networking, and cloud applications.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools and automation to improve operational efficiency.
  • Self-starter with a "zero-to-one" mindset who enjoys building processes, solving problems, and working independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.


OMPENSATION & BENEFITS
