Job Summary
DISA is seeking a Minerals Processing Manager that is internally called the Technical Services Manager. The Technical Services Manager will lead global technical service activities as a technical expert and supervisory mentor. The successful candidate will have strong skills in supervision, minerals process engineering, testwork management, and commissioning/ operational support for mineral processing operations. Directing a high-performing team based out of Westminster, Colorado and Casper, Wyoming, the Technical Services Manager will be directly responsible for developing testwork and commissioning plans for lab tests, pilot programs, and commercial deployments while organizing and delivering process engineering services to DISA's worldwide mining clients. The role serves as the final technical authority for reviewing and approving data interpretation, process engineering analyses, and client-facing technical reports, spanning testwork results, flowsheet development, and operational optimization studies while ensuring deliverables meet DISA's quality standards before client presentation. This position requires direct client engagement, with the Technical Services Manager serving as DISA's primary technical point of contact throughout project execution and report delivery. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, wearing multiple hats and contributing to many areas of engineering.
Education/ Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in mineral processing, with demonstrated progression in technical responsibility
  • Proven experience designing, managing, and interpreting structured laboratory testwork programs
  • Hands-on experience with field commissioning, optimization, and operational support at commercial-scale mineral processing facilities
  • Experience in mineral processing flowsheet development and analysis
  • Supervisory experience including formal performance management, mentorship, and development of engineering staff
  • Experience contributing to technical proposals, project scoping, and commercial pricing support

Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a Technical Services team comprised of a Laboratory Testwork team based in Westminster, Colorado and a Field Service Engineering team based in Casper, Wyoming.
  • Manage the allocation of work within the Technical Services team, ensuring productivity and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Conduct formal performance reviews, establish development goals, and provide ongoing mentorship and career development planning for direct reports.
  • Review and approve work performed by the Technical Services team to ensure quality aligns with mining industry standards and DISA requirements.
  • Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures for laboratory and field activities.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track Work Orders, Support Requests, project deliverables, and resource utilization.
  • Manage the Technical Services operating budget, including laboratory costs, field deployment expenses, equipment utilization, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and R&D to support project delivery, equipment sales, product development, and business objectives.
  • Contribute to proposal development and project scoping, including defining testwork programs, resource requirements, schedules, and technical pricing inputs.
  • Manage the development, execution, and interpretation of HPSA laboratory testwork programs conducted at the Westminster laboratory.
  • Direct resource staffing, technical planning, execution, and data analysis for pilot programs, commissioning activities, optimization projects, and operational support assignments.
  • Lead select laboratory and field activities through direct participation in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization efforts.
  • Serve as the final technical authority for reviewing and approving testwork reports, field service reports, business case evaluations, process engineering studies, and technical papers prior to client delivery.
  • Serve as DISA's primary technical point of contact for clients throughout project execution, report delivery, and post-deployment support.
  • Perform process engineering calculations related to equipment sizing, flowsheet development, process optimization, and commercial system proposals.
  • Resolve technical and process design challenges associated with new equipment installations and operational performance.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvement and support intellectual property development initiatives.
  • Coordinate field test initiatives and product validation efforts with the R&D team.
  • Support Business Development, Engineering, R&D, and Operations through the analysis and communication of technical data and operational insights.
  • Provide regular project, operational, staffing, and budget updates to management.
  • Perform domestic and international travel as required to support laboratory activities, pilot programs, commissioning projects, client meetings, and operational support activities.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures established by DISA.
  • Attend and participate in all required safety trainings.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Requirements
