Job Responsibilities

Role is expected to Lead and direct the SWP Operations and service businesses and supporting functional teams. Leads, formulates and directs strategies to organise and optimise processes and efficiencies across multiple locations and functional teams to drive profitable growth.

Operations & Production Management

  • Oversee all workshop repair, reclamation and refurbishment activities, ensuring sales targets, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Implement lean processes, monitor rework and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and cycle time.
  • Manage output, process flow, job scheduling and resource allocation to optimise efficiency and cost control.
  • Review capacity in line with sales forecasts and make recommendations for growth or resource adjustments.

Field & On-Site Services

  • Plan, schedule and manage on-site repair and reclamation teams (eg. Sugar Mills, Power Stations & Cement Mills), ensuring safe mobilisation, clear scope, documentation and customer communications.
  • Ensure field teams are prepared with correct tools, procedures, site inductions, and materials to meet customer shutdown and emergency requirements.
Job Requirements

Minimum 5–8 years’ operations or site leadership experience in heavy repair, reclamation, fabrication, or field service within mining, minerals processing, sugar, cement or allied industries.

Strong practical knowledge of heavy welding, wear repair techniques, refurbishment processes and workshop practices.

Proven ability to manage field service teams and shutdown/turnaround activities.

Experience with job costing, ERP work-order systems, and delivering operational KPIs.

Demonstrated leadership, people development, stakeholder management and communication skills.

Sound understanding of OH&S legislation, safe systems of work and risk management

Trade qualification (eg. Boilermaker/Fitter/Welder) or tertiary qualification in engineering/operations management.

Welding inspector / welding procedure knowledge, and Cert 10.
