Job description

DESCRIPTION: 


We are seeking a talented Floor Manager for a popular, elevated, full-service Mexican Cantina near MSG. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in management, exposure to high-volume operations ($5M+), and a passion for people. The Floor Manager will also oversee all activity in the FOH, including staff training, COG’s control, scheduling, inventory, and health/safety protocols. Must have open availability. Must be authorized to work in the US.


JOB. DUTIES:


  • Customer interaction, guest experience, and overall customer service.
  • Oversee, guide, and lead FOH staff including scheduling, development, and training.
  • Food & beverage quality and safety.
  • Ensure that each shift is run in a smooth manner as well as having the ability to handle any unexpected problems or emergencies that may arise.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and staff meetings (including one-on-one meetings).
  • Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the restaurant facility and equipment to protect the business, comply with regulations and ensure quality service.
  • Ability to be on your feet during the entire shift, interacting with guests, kitchen, bar, and table touching all areas.
  • P&L management focusing on labor cost, controllable costs, and increasing revenue.
  • Working with the management team to develop, create and implement new promotions, daily programs and marketing ideas to drive top-line sales.


REQUIREMENTS: 


  • 1-2+ years as a FOH Manager.
  • Two years of progressive experience in high-volume restaurants/bars, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Natural ability to manage a high-volume operation.
  • Prior experience in training, ordering, and managing budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Health and safety code expertise.
  • Must embrace a healthy work culture and stay calm under pressure; no room for ego.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
