Job description

Amazon is seeking a driven, creative, and highly proactive PR Specialist to support communications for Alexa+ AI Devices. In this role, you will execute PR strategies and campaigns for Alexa+ AI Devices, including Amazon Echo and Bee device launches, ensuring coordinated messaging across all channels while supporting multiple hardware reviews simultaneously.
You'll manage proactive momentum activity campaigns that keep Alexa+ Devices top-of-mind beyond launch moments, helping build sustained media interest and customer engagement throughout the year. This role requires passion, creativity, bias for action, and a focus on driving results that map to our business and reputational objectives.
You will help craft compelling innovation thought leadership and storytelling that positions Alexa+ Devices as category leaders in consumer AI hardware, translating complex hardware and AI capabilities into narratives that resonate with media and customers. Through media relations and proactive pitching, you'll build and maintain relationships with technology, consumer electronics, and smart home media contacts (across press and influencers), securing coverage that drives business results.
As part of this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional (and geographically dispersed) partners, including product, engineering, marketing, and senior leadership teams. You will support integrated communications strategies that align with business objectives and product roadmaps and help manage agency relationships and external PR resources as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience securing media coverage in technology and consumer publications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate technical concepts for broad audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to execute communications plans that drive business results.
- Proactive mindseta desire to contribute to campaigns and storytelling, outside of launch moments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting product launches or hardware review programs.
- Experience in consumer technology communications, particularly in smart home, voice AI, or hardware categories.
- Track record of contributing to successful proactive PR campaigns or thought leadership programs.
- Experience working with engineering and product teams in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments.
- Developing relationships with technology reporters and influencers.
- Interest in or understanding of AI technology, hardware design processes, or emerging technology trends.
- Ability to support long-term communications strategies aligned with business goals.
- Ability to craft compelling narratives from complex technical information.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal partners and external media.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
