MECHANICAL PROJECT MANAGER
The primary role of the Mechanical Project Manager is to be a resource and provide guidance for McGough's entire construction team regarding MEP systems from pre-construction to project close out, while providing best value to the project and our clients.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 8+ years experience with mechanical/electrical contractor/general contractor
• 2+ year experience with MEP Estimating
• Ability to read, understand and identify mechanical/electrical code compliance and constructability issues in design drawings and specifications
• Capable of creating scope of work documents for mechanical/electrical/plumbing/fire protection and low voltage pricing by subcontractors
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical components and construction costs
• Strong communication skills for directly interacting with Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors and Owners
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
• Ability to navigate through REVIT and AutoCAD documents
• Experience with estimating software
• Experience with Construction Management Software (Procore, AutoDesk,etc)
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Current OSHA 30 certification/CPR/First Aid
Office and Travel:
This is a travel position for our National Operating unit. Site is in Ellendale North Dakota. Position included GSA per diem rates and travel home every three weeks (long weekend) provided by company. Project could be as long as 2+ years. All National Operating Unit employees are traveling personnel.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Review mechanical/electrical design drawings and specifications
• Comment on potential mechanical/electrical code conflicts/requirements with the design
• Comment on potential mechanical/electrical constructability issues with the design
• Compare and evaluate options for mechanical/electrical systems as appropriate for project goals
MEP contractor selection
• Assist in selection of MEP subcontractors for bidding
• Prepare/develop MEP request for proposals (RFPs) to MEP subcontractors
• Prepare and complete Scope of Works for mechanical/electrical contractor selection
• Review Scope Cards and evaluate proposals are complete and are being provided by mechanical/electrical contractors
• Manage/implement MEP pre-bid meetings and interviews
• Evaluate feasibility of voluntary alternates provided by mechanical/electrical contractors
• Provide RFP analysis and recommendation for MEP subcontractor selection
• Lead Manager within PM group writing Subcontracts for MEP subcontractors
As a Member of PM team during construction
• Attend/manage meetings with project teams (internal/external) to present/review MEP pricing as necessary
• Coordinate scopes, submittals, pricing, and manpower requirements to ensure compliance with project goals
• Assist with creating Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for Mechanical work including procurement, construction, energization and commissioning
• Identify and plan critical systems shutdowns
• Conduct periodic site investigations to identify mechanical/electrical deficiencies
• Perform quantity takeoff, unit pricing and estimate analysis for MEP design documentation
• Develop value engineering items based upon documentation review
Work with construction team through project closeout and commissioning
• Assist 3rd party commissioning agents in scheduling and completing commissioning logs
• Assist in gathering and compiling closeout documentation for owner
• Coordinate Owner training and transitional services

Employee will be required to visit construction jobsites, which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures. In addition, employee must be able to move around prospective or current project sites. This includes climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, walking long distances, and climbing stairs.
