We are Techmer PM - the world's foremost materials design firm, creating custom polymers that make up essential products. We are currently seeking a Commercial Sales Engineer for our Wichitas, KS area. The salary range for this position is $125-$150K.

The desired candidate will manage highly complex accounts, with multiple locations and functions that require the coordination of various Techmer PM resources to achieve maximum growth of sales and profits.
Responsibilities include:
1. Account Management - Existing Customers
  • Maintain and grow sales within an assigned territory of existing color, additive and masterbatch accounts across a wide array of end use applications and markets.
  • Develop high wide and deep customer relationships with purchasing, production, R&D, and quality departments.
  • Leverage relationships to expand our existing share of wallet and prevent YOY attrition.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews to evaluate QTD performance in revenue, quality, new product development, delivery and more.
  • Utilize our Technical Service & R&D teams to make material recommendations, resolve complex technical challenges, formulate new materials and address complaints.
  • Establish a cadence for meetings based upon the needs of the customer and the business.

2. New Business Development
  • Utilize 30-60% of your time to identify and develop new business at customers within the assigned territory.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to uncover opportunities & key market insights.
  • Identify opportunities to exhibit, attend and network at industry tradeshows
  • Manage the full sales cycle from new customer identification to new business commercialization.

3. Territory Planning & Reporting
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets across the territory.
  • Maintain Salesforce with accurate records of customer interactions, quotes, opportunities, and new business closes.
  • Provide monthly sales forecasts, call reports, and market insights to leadership.
  • Analyze territory performance and adjust strategies to meet or exceed budgeted goals.

4. Collaboration with Internal Teams
  • Work closely with regional teams and leadership to help drive growth.
  • Leverage technical service, scheduling / planning, purchasing and customer service teams to deliver customer solutions.
  • Relay market feedback and customer sentiment to internal teams to ensure continuous enhancements to our portfolio and customers.

5. Product & Industry Knowledge
  • Stay updated on masterbatch formulations, performance & sustainability trends, processing techniques, and customer applications.
  • Keep informed on relevant regulations and customer requirements.

6. Travel & Territory Coverage
  • Plan travel at least 3 week in advance and conduct regular in-person visits across the territory to maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Travel expectations of up to 70%.
