Your role at Clorox:

The Sr. Demand Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining the demand plan and forecasting activities associated with customers and products of assigned business unit. The position will lead the IBP process and meetings for their assigned business unit. This position will ensure that the demand plans incorporate business intelligence and forecast information from sales, marketing, finance, demand analytics, and other sources. Work will also include submitting a forecast for financial and supply purposes as well as being heavily involved in the budget and Long-Range Planning process.

In this role, you will:

Create/Review/Validate Demand Signal for rolling 24 month horizon:
  • Analyze and update SKU Level demand signal based on trends, alerts, models, assumption changes, inputs, etc.
  • Work with Demand Analytics to utilize a machine learning baseline forecast while incorporating promotional volume and business intelligence into the forecast.
  • Analyzes historical sales trends from AC Nielsen data, POS information and shipment trends to support baseline forecast assumptions
  • Understanding of product life cycles to develop new item projections; adjust signal for new products, transitions, and/or discontinued products
  • Compile and analyze forecasts inputs at various demand segments, identifying and detailing performance gaps for review in monthly S&OP meetings
  • Continuously improve forecasts through evaluation of promotional activity, inventory changes, consumptions trends, category trends, media and advertising plans or extended service level impacts
  • Ensure Business/Sales Team plans are supported through the Demand Forecast process
  • Proactively communicate critical changes to downstream supply chain partners
Facilitate / Participate / Lead S&OP process for assigned business unit:
  • Own and continually improve the Demand Alignment meeting through a detailed time sensitive process that compliments the existing business team format and financial planning processes
  • Develop a sales forecast rollup by business from individual sku level forecasts to support discussions at the monthly meetings with Marketing, Sales and Finance. Provide insights on market and customer trends in order to complete a gap analysis
  • Develop upside/downside scenarios with risk assessments and recommended actions to meet customer service objectives and shipment targets
  • Lead monthly consensus forecast reviews with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations teams to validate and adjust current fiscal year forecasts, gaining full alignment with business owners and executive management
  • Gain consensus from all departments on key assumptions and changes to segment level volume
  • Provide monthly summaries to teams identifying key drivers, and clarity against segment/SKU level gaps
  • Prepare, supervise and publish forecast KPI's including forecast accuracy and bias Monitor orders vs. estimates on a monthly basis, responding to exceptions with collaborative discussions and addressing monthly plan revisions accordingly
  • Identify key issues which require immediate escalation to Sales and/or Operations as the need arises
  • Build business reviews determining long term business health and trends
  • Create and publish building blocks used to generate topline forecast plans
  • Produces reports that facilitate a continuous analysis of actual sales and emerging trends in comparison to forecasts.
Change Management:
  • Identify areas in need of improvement
  • Search for potential solutions both internally and externally
  • Create and present recommendations
  • Collaborate with team to implement process improvements
  • Adopt new tools to improve process and KPI results

What we look for:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 3 years of work experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, or similar roles
  • Experience using Advanced Planning software tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Ability to build strong relationships across functions and levels
  • Demonstrated strong aptitude in data analysis, root causes identification, and problem solving
  • Detail oriented & skilled at staying organized in a fast paced environment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of work experience within Demand Planning, Supply Planning, or similar roles
  • Consumer Packaged Goods experience
  • SQL/ PowerBI proficiency
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills

-Zone B: $83,400 - $155,900
