The Role

The Treasury Director will play a critical leadership role within the Treasury function, reporting directly to senior treasury leadership and partnering closely with Finance, Investment Operations, Accounting, Risk, Legal, and external banking partners. This position is responsible for overseeing liquidity management, custody and trust account administration, collateral management, banking relationships, and treasury operations governance. The role will have significant influence on treasury strategy, cash management efficiency, and financial risk oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead treasury operations across custody accounts, trust accounts, banking relationships, and cash management activities.
  • Manage daily liquidity, cash positioning, and liquidity forecasting to ensure optimal funding and capital deployment.
  • Oversee custody banking, trust structures, investment operations support, and asset servicing processes.
  • Direct collateral and margin monitoring activities, including settlement and treasury-related derivative operations.
  • Partner with custodians, trustees, banks, and external counterparties to ensure efficient treasury and settlement operations.
  • Support implementation, optimization, and administration of Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and treasury automation initiatives.
  • Monitor FHLB membership, pledged collateral positions, borrowing capacity, and funding resources.
  • Assist with board, regulatory, rating agency, and management reporting related to liquidity and treasury matters.
  • Manage credit facilities, funding programs, and capital structure initiatives to support business growth.
  • Strengthen treasury controls, governance frameworks, segregation of duties, and operational risk management practices.
  • Identify process improvements and treasury solutions that enhance efficiency, connectivity, and scalability.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of treasury experience with direct exposure to custody accounts, trust accounts, liquidity management, and treasury operations.
  • Strong knowledge of custody banking, trust structures, investment operations, asset servicing, and cash management.
  • Experience working within insurance, asset management, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Proven track record managing banking counterparties, custodians, trustees, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Leadership and management experience with the ability to drive complex initiatives across multiple business units.
  • Understanding of treasury regulations, liquidity risk management, and financial controls.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, treasury systems, and financial reporting tools.
  • CPA, CFA, and/or MBA preferred.
