Job description

The HR Staff Development Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating employee orientation, training, leadership development, compliance education, and continuing education programs. This position works closely with department managers to assess training needs, improve employee performance, and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding programs.
  • Develop, schedule, and conduct employee training and educational programs.
  • Assess organizational training needs and recommend development initiatives.
  • Create and update training materials, presentations, manuals, and educational resources.
  • Track employee training requirements, certifications, and compliance deadlines.
  • Partner with department leaders to develop individualized employee development plans.
  • Coordinate mandatory annual training and regulatory education.
  • Assist with leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and recognition programs.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate training records and reports.
  • Assist Human Resources with policy implementation and employee communications.
  • Stay current on employment laws, healthcare regulations, and best practices in learning and development.

QualificationsRequired

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Resources, Training, Staff Development, Learning & Development, or Organizational Development.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred

  • Healthcare or behavioral health experience.
  • Experience developing training curricula and employee education programs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred but not required.
