Job description

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Learning & Development, as the Associate Director, Commercial Learning & Development, you will support all learning and development needs of an aligned Therapeutic Area (TA) and other training responsibilities as assigned.

This is a hybrid role, requiring three (3) days of onsite work weekly. #LI-hybrid

The Role:

Strategy Execution:

  • Partner closely with Marketing and Sales leadership to develop learning strategies that deliver outcomes tailored to business needs. Integrate a cross-functional team approach to learning strategies as appropriate.

Program Design & Delivery:

  • Build a training plan that effectively translates TA/brand strategy into action for sales. Oversee the end-to-end creation and delivery of in-person, digital, and virtual training methodologies. Implement creative approaches to engage adult learners across new hire and advanced training, and national meeting workshops.

Assigned Programs:

  • Lead advanced development and training operations programs (e.g., New Hire Training, National Field Trainer, New RSM, Leadership Development, Learning Systems, etc.).

Needs Assessment:

  • Partner with Marketing and Sales leadership to diagnose performance gaps and conduct formal needs assessment surveys to prioritize training resources.

Team & Vendor Management:

  • Effectively set stakeholder expectations, manage program budgets, supervise external training vendors, and maintain a compliant training curriculum for assigned TA.

Impact Evaluation:

  • Measure training effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) using performance data and key metrics.
Your Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, Education, or Organizational Development (masterโ€™s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 to 8+ yearsโ€™ experience in pharmaceutical/biotech commercial sales, marketing, and training, including prior people leadership. Prior training experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in adult learning principles, cross-functional consulting, virtual/in-person facilitation, and data-driven impact analysis.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to identify learning needs and influence stakeholders around solutions using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Strong people management skills and ability to lead in a matrix.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required).
  • Strong project management expertise, including ability to effectively manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
