HVAC Service Manager

Location: Eagle, CO

Compensation: $125,000 annually + bonus

Position Summary

The Premier Group is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager on behalf of our client to lead and grow their HVAC Service Department. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing daily service operations, developing technicians, implementing structure and accountability, and helping expand the department as the company continues to grow.


The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who enjoys mentoring others, improving processes, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous learning. This individual will work closely with ownership to introduce best practices, recommend operational improvements, and help elevate the service department to the next level.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the HVAC Service Department.
  • Directly supervise, mentor, train, and develop a team of 3โ€“4 HVAC Service Technicians.
  • Coordinate technician schedules, dispatching, and service calls to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for technicians by answering questions and providing field support when needed.
  • Lead and support HVAC equipment installations as necessary.
  • Oversee the full sheet metal service department and ensure quality workmanship across all service operations.
  • Recruit, interview, and proactively identify opportunities to grow the service team with additional technicians as business demands increase.
  • Develop onboarding and ongoing training programs to improve technician performance and technical knowledge.
  • Create structure within the department by implementing processes, performance expectations, and operational best practices.
  • Establish and conduct employee performance reviews while developing meaningful KPIs to measure success and support employee growth.
  • Coach and mentor team members through regular feedback and professional development.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance agreements, emergency service calls, and customer service initiatives.
  • Review work orders, service documentation, estimates, and proposals for quality and accuracy.
  • Manage department productivity, labor efficiency, and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to grow recurring service revenue and maintenance agreements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with commercial and residential customers while delivering exceptional service.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Promote a culture centered on safety, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable building codes.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of HVAC service experience.
  • 3+ years in a Service Manager, Service Supervisor, or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and residential HVAC systems.
  • Experience with boilers, hydronic systems, rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, and sheet metal systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop service technicians.
  • Experience implementing processes, KPIs, performance management, or operational improvements is highly desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience using service management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • NATE Certification.
  • Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and service agreements.
  • Strong customer relationship and business development skills.
  • Previous experience managing departmental budgets and profitability.
