POSITION: Manager, Learning & Development
COMPENSATION: Pursuant to Colorado regulations, if this job is performed in Colorado, the salary range is $83,000 - $93,000 plus bonus potential. Eligible to participate in the company benefits plan. LOCATION: Remote eligible. Note: Candidates residing within 25 miles of our Denver HQ are expected to work in the office 2 days per week.
REPORTS TO: Director, Learning & Development
SUMMARY
The Manager, Learning & Development plays a critical role in executing Cardinal Group’s strategic vision by bridging business leaders, project sponsors, and operations. This position leads the end-to-end strategy, design, and deployment of innovative learning and talent development solutions that boost workforce productivity. As Cardinal drives toward an AI-powered, hospitality-focused future, this leader actively leverages emerging learning technologies and AI tools to scale impact, refine processes, and create modern learning experiences across the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to):
- Partner with stakeholders to conduct needs assessments and translate business objectives into scalable learning and organizational development strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of Instructional Designers focused on delivering quality and driving business outcomes.
- Lead the administration and continuous optimization of the company-wide quarterly performance management program, driving organizational alignment and team member growth.
- Oversee the end-to-end instructional design cycle, balancing custom content creation with curated external learning paths (library content, coaches, cohorts, etc).
- Design and refine internal mobility pathways to improve team member retention.
- Develop measurement strategies for all learning solutions to demonstrate business impact and effectiveness.
- Design scalable deployment plans that fit the unique needs of the organization's complexities and seasonal demands.
- Support the administration of two core learning technologies while monitoring their business impact to maximize their return on investment.
- Conduct Train the Trainer sessions to upskill facilitators; provide recommendations for delivery method and frequency of training content to support organizational growth.
- Partner with executives to drive individual skill and capability building across frontline teams in support of organizational transformation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience & Education: 3–5 years of progressive L&D experience (Instructional Design, Learning Management, or Talent Development), including 1–2 years leading or mentoring a team. Equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree is welcome.
- Instructional & Measurement Expertise: Demonstrated background in end-to-end training strategy from needs assessment and facilitation to measuring business impact using frameworks like Kirkpatrick or LTEM.
- Communication & Facilitation: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a strong internal customer-service focus and the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
- Project & Team Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with a track record of self-managing complex projects, prioritizing workloads, and driving team performance.
- Systems & Industry Background: Working knowledge of Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) and industry experience in property management or hospitality are strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel nationally 20% of the time.
